The mining infrastructure for ZEC needs an upgrade.

Simple enough to do a mining algo change, bring back the hobby miners.

Bring back GPU miners?

With the upcoming move to PoS or Hybrid PoW/PoS we have an opportunity to bring back the small scale independent miners and resolve our hashpower concentration issues. When Zcash first launched it chose the Equihash mining algorithm to be ASIC resistant (an assumption that turned out to be wrong) to better democratize Zcash distribution among more parties.
