im stumped. now in addition to my spacebar not working and havingto use a virtual keyboard, icant for the lifeofme get the miner to do anything useful.

What am i doing wrong?
forgive me if all of a suddenit is working and i missed it, as i just restarted the miner–daemon and redid a new .zcash folder and made a bak of the old-- onlyy fix/possible solution ive found just wanted to make this postbefore i threw ny laptop off a bridge…’

also, doineed to be in a mining pool? if so, any recommendatons and how-to?

also, when in normak miner window it says

I got this as well when I downloaded from a guide.

Use “git checkout v1.0.0” not git checkout v1.0.0-rc or anything different

So it sounds like you built from the github source directly.

What OS are you using?

Also that error says that you should not be using this version for serious mining, unless you want to contribute to development of zcash.

What git commit is your repository at?
My guess is that you should be at this git commit:

Which is the latest referenced here: Releases · zcash/zcash · GitHub

If you’re not sure how to check for this in git, that’s alright. Would you be open to using the debian or ubuntu package download system instead?

im currently running linux mint cinnamon, so i followed the ubuntu guide (Home · zcash/zcash Wiki · GitHub]

as far as my repo and gitcheckout i used this:

git clone https://github.com/zcash/zcash.git cd zcash/
git checkout v1.0.0 ./zcutil/fetch-params.sh

yes that appears, as of the last couplet tries here it stays stuck at

I think it’s trying to sync the latest block chain.
Does it let you rebuild your block database?

Also I have found that installing ZCash GUI is good way to check if you are synced to the latest block chain.

If this fails then you might need to clean your zcash build and rebuild it.
Meaning deleting the zcash folder. (you don’t have to delete .zcash folder)
