I have a few 7 card 1070 mining rigs running on 1000 watt platinum PSUs. I have AfterBurner set to implement the undervolt settings from bootup. Even at the outlet measure the a Kill-a-Watt they are only running 1k watts. I use Windows 10 and Awesome Miner to monitor.
My plan is this:
125 watts for a 1070
225 watts for a 1080ti
~75 watts for MoBo, CPU, SSD
Nothing else draws power on my computers. It holds true to plan on about 91% power efficency so I divide the numbers above by 0.91 to get the draw at the plug. No more than 80% continuous draw at the out let. Multiply wattsamps0.80 to get the max draw for that breaker (NOT OUTLET!).
So for the above example, a 7x1070 build, the numbers are:
125*7+75=950 watts from the PSU=All good
950/0.91=about 1043 watts from the outlet.
My breakers are 20 amp 120v so:
201200.80=1920 watts continuous off of the breaker
1043<1950 means we are all good. I could even squeeze a 5 card rig or 2 6 card rigs on that breaker. That would leave nothing for fans and cooling though.
I would be glad if some one direct me for discussion or tutorial in how to calculate the safe limit for amp sockets and what is max safe wattage i can use per socket .
not sure how to help here. I would do everything from scratch, 1 psu 1 gpu and see if that works, slowly increase one by one. Default the settings on SM web…
Hi,
I finally got my rig back up and running and the watts per card are back to 115w. The guy that created Simplemining OS is no help. I re flashed the USB twice. I could not change the clocks or power limits. But I finally tried deleting my rig from the dashboard on HIS website and it worked. Simplmining stores all your setting on there website. Scare to try to overclock because you cannot change back. But right now it is stable so I will wait a little bit before I tried anything.
Does any one know of what the overclock setting for MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X?
