After much thought, I’ve decided not to run for a fifth year on the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) committee. Between Shielded Labs, ZCG, and the Coinholder Grants Program, I’ve got my hands full, and it feels like the right time to make space for someone new. The community has grown significantly over the past year, and this year’s slate of candidates is the strongest yet, which makes it an easy decision to pass the torch.
It’s been a pleasure serving on the committee for the past four years, and I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. I’m grateful to everyone who supported my candidacy and trusted me to represent the community in funding projects that benefit Zcash. Now that the Dev Fund is allocated across two distinct grant programs, ZCG’s role is more important than ever in ensuring resources are deployed effectively and funding is directed to the areas where it can have the greatest impact.
I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside an exceptional group of committee members over the years. Working with such thoughtful and dedicated people has been one of the best parts of this role. Even when we didn’t agree, the conversations were always constructive and everyone approached the work with sincerity and a genuine desire to do what’s best for Zcash. Thank you to @wobbzz, @brunchtime, @aiyadt, @Souptacular, @dontpanicburns, @ambimorph, @GGuy, @decentralistdan, @artkor, and @zerodartz for everything you’ve contributed.
I also want to say a big thank you to FPF for their support in administering the ZCG program. Alex and Danika are absolutely incredible and do a ton of essential work behind the scenes that keeps everything running smoothly. They don’t get the credit they deserve, and without them, ZCG wouldn’t operate as effectively as it does.
Things are just getting started for Zcash. The future is bright and there’s a lot to look forward to.
I’m excited to see where the next committee takes things.
I’m really glad you became such a “vocal investor” in this project. Your input came at exactly the right time, and your steadfast support of Zcash has had a major impact, both through the projects you and the committee funded and in steadying community confidence.
Your professionalism and ability to engage across the wider ecosystem to get things done has been invaluable.
With Shielded Labs continuing to drive things forward, the work you’ve started will keep shaping Zcash for years to come.
You’ve done an outstanding job. Much of ZCG’s success and evolution over the years can be credited to your leadership and contributions. You leave behind big shoes to fill. Thank you for being a consistently thoughtful and grounded member of ZCG.
The future of Zcash is brighter thanks to the work you’ve put in — truly. Protect your time , spend it wisely , and Zcash becomes unstoppable . I’m not crying, honestly. I, ah, just wasn’t wearing goggles during that last move into the shielded pool.
Thank you Jason for all your support, from your first warm welcome at Zcon4 to meetings, messages and phone calls. All much appreciated. Your integrity and love for Zcash is contagious. Looking forward to what’s (onward!) ahead!
Jason, I knew this day would come—it is the end of an era. You are the ZCG GOAT and it was a privilege to work with you. Thank you for helping us to get to the point where we are and for all the work to you are still doing for Zcash.
Zcash is the only fungible agency, but those who use it are not.
@aquietinvestor is the premier example that who uses it matters. You’ve changed what Zcash is, for the better. I’m very grateful to collaborate with you.
I’m certain it will be privilege to work with you, going forward.
Thank you for all your valuable contributions over the years as a member of the ZCG! I agree with other members of the community that your participation in this committee had a significant impact on the direction taken by the committee and Zcash to get us where we are today. I wish you success in your future endeavors, both within and outside Zcash!
@aquietinvestor Thank you for all the work you’ve done all of these years for ZCG. You leave a high bar that won’t be easy to match. I’ll miss working with you as part of ZCG but I’m sure we will keep crossing paths and collaborating .
