I was referring to the pool_exclusion metadata that I think is not a hack.
The main reason I prefer tex is because it can be easily implemented and confined to the wallet front end. It is also easily recognizable (I still hope that they will be deprecated soon).
PS: Not being able to visually know what receivers a UA includes, is a complaint I got from users several times.
