According to Secure and Decentralized News Portal based on the ZCash Blockchain · Issue #26 · ZcashFoundation/GrantProposals-2018Q2 · GitHub, it is written that they are the authors of z-board with emails mentioned in section 8.

Zboard was an online bulletin board where people used shielded transactions’ memo fields to post to it

Thanks everyone! Are there any other uses of the memo field out there that are similar to this?

I use the memo field to identify payments via Zatsuma (Zcash Point Of Sale) - not exactly complicated, the memo is set to the customers order number.
