Mf as CZG Committee member

Good afternoon everyone,

With this post, I’d like to put myself forward as your CZG Committee member.
Online, I’m known as Mf, and since a few years post-doxxing, you can also find my information under my real name: Michiel Degruytere.

I believe I would be a valuable addition to the committee due to my extensive practical and theoretical contributions in this space. Often behind the scenes, while also having taken the spotlight to push the conversation towards the importance of privacy and its culture. This allows me to understand the current narrative, while also staying aligned to our roots.
Not only have I created and successfully executed grant proposals on both a delegation and production scale, but I’ve also served as a judge for them. This gave me practical insight into costs, feasibility, and relevance.

My goals within the ZCG committee are to have a neutral agenda, favouring objective analysis of a proposal, and aligning that with the relevant long-term ZCash needs. The power of ZCG lies in the community coming up with its ideas and perspectives; I would want to maintain ZCG’s current capability to make reasonable choices while also incentivising extended community input.

@zerodartz invited me to apply for this round, as we discussed it for the 2025 Elections. I had already written my application, and the recent news makes my proposal even more relevant. I’m someone who brings positive forward momentum. Where in an average time space I would definitely be valuable, I tend to be priceless.

In an age of overload of information, I value the 5-paragraph request, and as such I’d invite both the community and the election committee to post their questions and comments for more information below

just confirming here that I did talk to him last year at 1 event where Mf mentioned he has been learning more about Zcash and would like to be more involved in Zcash ecosystem in the future.

so recently i reminded him that there is this opportunity to apply for ZCG. and he followed through.

in my opinion Mf could be a good fit for ZCG as his experience working across other privacy and crypto projects would bring a fresh outside perspective that can be a great addition to current ZCG members. his connections from event organizing could also provide valuable guidance for many Zcash community projects.
