Intro/Background:
Hey everyone, my name is Miguel and have been a long admirer of ZCash for many years and am a relative newcomer here in the forum. I’m throwing my name in the hat as I do feel that although new in the ZCash ecosystem, I do bring a lot of prior experiences and knowledge that could help with the Grants Committee. While I feel my chances are slim given a relative new face here, I hope to build trust and confidence with everyone and demonstrate my love/passion for privacy and decentralized technologies.
By background, I’m a 15+ year experience engineer in the energy industry and currently working in a role that melds finance and engineering in my day job. I’ve worked on large scale engineering projects and done project management of the finances and engineering for various projects as well.
Since 2019 when I first discovered blockchain/cryptocurrencies, I’ve worked on a small team for a project called Sarcophagus which was a decentralized dead man’s switch project built on Ethereum. It was focused on allowing anyone to pass data/secrets/passwords to a desired wallet in a fully transparent way. I also have done some mechanism/incentive design work for various projects in modeling and analytics (aiming at DeFi and governance) as a contributor to Token Dynamics and on my own. I’m also working on coming up with a modeling and analytic framework for the dynamic fee proposal for ZCash that was brought up and have been sharing with Shielded Mark on it’s progress (Repo here).
Why and What Can I Do for ZCG?
Having a lot of experience in project management of engineering projects (albeit not software development), understanding requirements, defining what the expectations are and being around many projects have a good understanding of the amount of grift that thrown about, I think I could offer a lot of outside perspective and experiences from other ecosystems to help judge and review proposals in an objective and meaningful way. The goal of most grants projects is to help build and grow the developer base, inject capital into new and interesting projects and experiments, and to help grow the community and those would be the core tenets I would approach proposals efficacy and outcomes on.
Hoping to build and contribute more, but think the ZCash tech and community are really in a special place right now.
