There never was any competition between Zcash and Monero. It was all a charade.
That X post about DEX adoption was from 2023
Today RetoSwap exists with reasonable volume
You are correct about atomic swap volume currently.
I follow Serai development (it is written in Rust) and it should be ready soon, drastically improving atomic swap adoption.
As any Zcash developer will tell you, shielded swap protocols are more complex than transparent ones.
Thank you! I will let Musk know that they have problems with the dates under the posts.
So that website is to buy gift cards with crypto for a few important privacy services not supporting it directly. I needed it for one of those services and then I realized two things:
-
It’s another place that only accepts BTC and Monero
-
Private.Storage is a Least Authority service, yes the one founded by @zooko. Basically it’s one place you would hope to see ZEC.
Damn, we’re losing son.
Posting in this thread everyday just to get “Monero” up top is freaking cringe. We hear you, I vote for less spam.
I’ll go one step further, you said you would leave if you werent happy, and yet here you are?
Put up, or shut up. ( you wont, because you’re full of it )
Actually, I think it’s quite useful to get a real sense of all those places where we should be, and having this under this thread certainly creates a bit of frustration hopefully. Personally it evidently frustrates me, and for that reason I often contact those websites to suggest ZEC, but for now I have not engaged in discussions given btcpayserver is not ready yet.
Cool mate. Bye now.
I kind of agree with outgoing.doze here. I never used that website, but it makes sense to also have Zcash as a payment option.
@outgoing.doze: Did you contact them, telling that you are interested in paying with Zcash? If you explain why then they might be eager to add Zcash. That’s how we grow awareness about Zcash.
I do sometimes, yes, but not yet that specific website. I am just realizing btcpayserver should now be working with zcash so first I’m going to try to gather some more details about that, that way I can not just say “support Zcash” but also provide some level of guidance as well. And then sure I’ll happily resume contacting various privacy services!
That’s right, today it was merged into the main branch of BTCPayServer. I launched it on a VPS today and connected a multi-account to it. You may experiment with it here: https://btcpay.zcash.space/
I paid for about a week of VPS before it stops. ZCG has also provided everything necessary to our partners at NYM, and they will likely begin integration in the near future. We eagerly await their feedback.
Here is a quick guide to connecting the Zcash plugin in the BTCPayServer UI:
Zcash_BTCPay_Setup_Guide.pdf (2.2 KB)
I will devote the next couple of weeks to preparing more step-by-step instructions, including videos. As soon as we know that NYM is using it, we will make a public announcement about the Zcash plugin.
Should create a new thread
I dont want to further the unnecessary spam
I don’t know very much about Serai, but we as a community should look at possible integration, IMO.
https://private.storage doesn’t accept any crypto, for whatever reason. So really you’re complaining only about proxysto.re when it comes to preferred coin acceptance, but I grant you it isn’t uncommon. But! There are rays of hope…
IMO this is VERY GOOD news. If everything works correctly, it is a substantial victory, brought through ZCG activities (and the direct effort of @1337bytes). No fancy consultations and years-looooong backroom talks that yield nothing: IIUC, this is a tool that right now makes our core interest usable for commerce.
Cheers to those making this possible: may we never again have a situation where there isn’t a simple way to integrate with an online store.
