Did you check your hardware wallets ?

Im totally confused of ZCash docs. I have task to implement Zcash migration to our finance gateway, but what exactly i should use?
I need RPC methods:
- createwallet
- getnewaddress
- getbalances
- gettransaction
- getrawmempool
- sendtoaddress
- NewTransactionNotifyMetod(-walletnofity in bitcoin)
Im already configure and run Zebrad(btw im surprised that there no proxy options for onion network. Currently i wrap process in firejail)
Then i found Zallet with notify option, but he requires Zaino(Founded only in generated config file, nothing in docs). While research Zaino docs, he link me to Zingo, instead of Zallet which i found in Migration Excel.
And there also lightwalletd. Another indexer like Zaino? Then why ZCash docs reffs to lightwalletd instead of Zaino?
Zaino is intended to be the successor to LightwalletD and thatās why you see both referenced.
Zallet can connect directly to a full node (no LWD or Zaino required) but wonāt support all the calls you list.

Since zcashd is being deprecated, there is an effort going on right now to replace all of its functionalities. The wallet part will be handled by Zallet; the indexer is Zaino and the node is Zebra. So that is what you need.
Development is still going on so itās likely you wonāt be able to complete the migration right now.
There is probably a lot of existing documentation that needs to be updated to reflect the new architecture, that is why you see a lot of mentions to lightwalletd.

Is there a specific date when zcashd will be deprecated? On my local computer Iām still using it.
Also, as I see thereās no option like āpruneā in zebrad. Is it planned?

At block 3146400, which should sometime in mid November. Theres an issue tracking pruning in zebra but itās currently not a priority feature: Implement pruned mode Ā· Issue #8559 Ā· ZcashFoundation/zebra Ā· GitHub

Mid-november will be the NU 6.1 network upgrade, which zcashd will also support. zcashd will be deprecated before NU7 which is expected to happen mid-2026

I didnāt know it got pushed back, I must have missed that.
I have some coins were sitting on my Ledger (I have the seed words) but the last transaction with them was June, 2017.
Ledger no longer supports the send of coins from that era, I just discovered.
Iāve tried to do a restore of the wallet to Edge and Ywallet, but the block/birthday height doesnāt go back that far.
Zashi has been sitting at 0.1% for a while now and Iām not feeling optimistic?
Is there any way to regain control of these coins?

You can also try Zkool. With the birthday set to 0, it will scan all blocks.
A lightwalletd server doesnāt index transactions prior to the Sapling activation . You may have luck with a full node but this is a scenario that I havenāt tested.

I was thinking that too but I wasnāt sure.
To be clear, lwd does not index transparent transactions.
Zkool should be able to sync old wallets (as far back as the genesis) as long as it is not Sprout.
But I canāt test because I donāt have a seed phrase or secret key that goes that far back.

Hi
I have some zec in an encrypted paper wallet. When I decryp it to get the private key, it gives me a wif private key (stars with 5) and a wif compressed private key (stars with L), but this last one is associated to a compressed public key that is not the same that the one that contains funds.
In zkool wallet I can only import the compressed private key (L), so it shows no funds.
Do u know how I can import it correctly, so I can see the funds in zkool wallet?

Implementing this change requires changing the code and recompiling the wallet binary, which is pretty advanced. The link to discord that was provided back on the tele was to the Zcash R&D discord which is where a lot of the main devs hang out and could maybe help with this. They also frequent this forum and so may respond here. This is not a common issue (not sure if Iāve ever seen it before, exactly) but Hanhās diagnosis seems promising so I suggest being patient and checking back here every once in a while.
