Proposal for Marketing Efforts at Global Conferences

Hello friends,

@fabacab and I just got back from our trip to Cyhperpunk Congress, devConnect, and ETHGlobal in Buenos Aires. We had an absolute blast teaching people about Zcash and encrypted money. Thank you to everyone who made this possible for us! We’d love to keep the momentum going for ETHDenver Feb 2026:

While I was there, I posted each day on my Twitter the selfies of new Zashi users as well as their u-addresses to welcome them into the community.

We had so many heart-to-heart deep conversations across the week from side events, to random encounters with bar staff, vendors, and conference attendees. For many, this was the first time they had heard of Zcash, and whether they downloaded Zashi or not on the spot, they now have the first touch-point for encrypted money. They know the tool exists, and for me, that’s an amazing start. In marketing, there is a theory that people sometimes need +3 touch-points before they commit, and while everyone wasn’t immediately convinced to download a new wallet on the spot, they now carry more accurate information about Zcash.

We met the lovely folks of the Zk Av Club, and recorded with them.

We got the chance to deeply connect with the amazing Web3Privacy Now team, and that was a surprise blessing of the week. The team deeply cares about privacy, and I never once felt any exclusion or hate for talking about a non-ETH based project. We connected with so many privacy-minded folks, that we hope to further collaborate on projects.

Stats:

  • +34 new Zashi downloads

  • Concurrent ETHGlobal hackathon in Cannes creates dual opportunity for advocacy and technical demonstration

@fabacab and I onboarded +34 new Zashi users in our 10 days in Buenos Aires, and with each person on the team we could compound the onboarding efforts. We’d love to bring a team of 3-4 people, knowledgeable and passionate about Zcash to each event.

If we don’t raise the full amount for this event or raise over the amount, funds will roll over to support ETH CC.
