Rougly 10%. It depends in part on where you draw the line – e.g. does the blake2b portion end when you have the hash in VGPRs or local memory, or does it end when you’ve put it back in VRAM?

Is r9 290 better with 4gb memory or 8gb?

No; CPU mining is far from dead, with single threaded CPU performance at least 1/6 of the highest reported GPU performance (jtoomim’s 38 Sol/s)

One guy here who seems to be very tough in assembly language stated he got 28 sol/sec on i7. So, GPU is near to be dead because price/power against performance on CPU side :).

Hi @jtoomim, first thank you for your work. Sorry if you have already settled this down, but are you planning on open sourcing it (or it will be only for cloud mining) ?
If the community can raise about 1/4 of what I think I can earn with this software privately, then I will open source it. Currently, that price looks to be in the ballpark of $500k/4=$125k.
I think Tromp’s attempt at crowdfunding his miner failed to reach even a tenth of that, so I haven’t been focusing my time on making a crowdfund work.

My crowfund didn’t really fail. I aborted it with about 2/3 of the 20BTC goal raised and one more day to go.
Still, I share your pessimism about raising 200BTC…

I would be happy to contribute. But given the size of the community at the the moment I doubt 200 BTC is achievable…
