What about NFTs on Zcash?

Hi, I’m new to the community.

I wonder how folk feel about NFTs on Zcash? I see there are some projects working on this - Zinc Protocol and Zerdinals, two separate ordinals projects. Searching this site turned up nothing for NFTs.

Does building NFT services on top of Zcash take anything away from Zcash? I wouldn’t want Zcash to suffer the consternation that Bitcoin has recently. I like the idea of a cypher punk-based collection on Zcash. Seems like a good fit.

Cheers,

The Badger.

I’m not a fan of the concept but if people want to launch NFTs they should wait for ZSAs to get deployed and use that. The whole point of Zcash is privacy and ZSAs would make private NFTs possible.

BRC-20 NFTs = yawn

Private NFTs (ZSAs) = sweet

There’s a pretty bullish case to be made about NFTs on Zcash, and it’s not about cryptopunks or bored apes. It’s about RWAs that are tokenized as NFTs.

Personal example: I own some tokenized Pokémon cards bought on courtyard dot io. I use my username on courtyard, but even if I didn’t, I had to use an EVM account that could be traced back to me if I did some mistakes or just if I wanted to top-up to buy more.

Now, I don’t have noteworthy cards on my account, and that’s mainly because I know they can be traced back to me. If I had a way to shield them, I would probably buy more, or at least with complete peace of mind.

I would like those NFTs to be also somehow available on courtyard or some other marketplace for sale if I want to sell them, and be unshielded only if they are actually sold.

I think it makes A LOT of sense, and there’s going to be an increasing amount of RWAs tokenized as NFTs that would add up to the bull case.

THX. I like that explanation. I can see increased privacy being a huge bonus for NFT collectors, either entirely digital or RWAs.
