What hardware should I use to mine zcash? CPU or GPU, what’s the factors to affect the hash rate?

Memory speed (and an adequate cpu) is the most important factor. What’s unclear (at least to me) is whether overall memory bandwidth or low latency gives the best result.

What about GPU with 4GB memory, like Radeon R9 290 or Radeon R9 380, CPU is Intel i3

It is only the last two revisions of zcash that have started using the Equihash algorithm. If / when gpu support is available is unclear at the moment.

Most miners mine coins with GPU, it’s more powerful than CPU, hope it can be supported soon before it launches.
