Will there be OSX and Windows clients/miners at launch?

This is a very simple question for the developers concerning their policy of whether or not Zcash will/should be available for use to everyone at launch, or only the select few that successfuly compile the unix binaries.

Will OSX and Windows builds be available when Zcash launches later this month?

Though I have rarely had problems building bitcoin and other wallets from source, I have not been been able to succeed with Zcash.

Short answer is No.

The developers are only officially supporting Linux for launch. But as abromide linked to and as other have posted in other threads there are individuals working on building Windows and OSX ports.

There is nothing stopping our open source miner from running on windows and mac (i’m actually building it on mac). So when zcashd has builds for other platforms there will be miners.
