Some of you may have seen my earlier posts introducing Zapp, a privacy-first messenger with shielded ZEC payments built in. That was March. A lot has happened since.
Zapp is now in open Android beta and I’m actively looking for testers. Figured this community is exactly the right place to find people who actually care about what we’re building.
What Zapp is:
End-to-end encrypted messaging with native shielded ZEC payments in the same flow. No phone number required. No public feeds. Chat, pay, done.
What’s working right now in beta:
- Encrypted P2P messaging
- Shielded ZEC sending inside conversations
- Swap: convert to and from ZEC without leaving the app
- No custodial setup: non-custodial from day one
- If you’re in India: real-world UPI purchases using ZEC. Pay a merchant, split a bill, settle up - all shielded.
The UPI piece is something I’ve wanted to solve for a while. ZEC is powerful but it’s been stuck in wallets. This gets it into everyday life for one of the largest payment ecosystems on the planet.
What I’m looking for from testers:
Honest feedback. What breaks, what feels off, what’s missing. This community has higher standards than most and that’s exactly what I need right now.
