Open Grant Proposals
- Zcash Parsers: Go and Kotlin Address Parsers
- Mark Harris has developed parsing libraries in Go and Kotlin languages, particularly for exchanges, by creating fully tested libraries capable of parsing various Zcash address types.
- Mark was referred by Kris Nuttycomb and the request came up from Coinbase who asked for a go library they can call to verify if a provided address is a valid Zcash address, including tex addresses.
- The compensation of $7200 is based on approximately 24 hours of work per language.
- Mark has finished building the libraries so this is essentially a retroactive grant.
- This grant was unanimously approved by the committee.
- Brian provided his vote to approve via Signal to ZCG and ZF.
- Block Explorer + Testnet Infrastructure
- Cacho was referred from Pacu and proposes to build a block explorer that essentially replaces NightHawk’s Zcash Block Explorer, which will no longer be maintained.
- Cacho says the proposal aims to address the lack of functional testnet nodes and block explorers by deploying a Kubernetes-based project utilizing Zcashd and Block Explorer components.
- The deliverables include setting up testnet and production block explorers, updating the infrastructure to support Zebra nodes, and implementing monitoring tools.
- Cacho is asking for $15,000 and aiming for completion by July 31, 2024.
- This grant was unanimously approved by the committee.
- Brian provided his vote to approve via Signal to ZCG and ZF.
Brainstorm Session Follow-Ups
- QEDIT
- QEDIT has submitted a grant to cover up to $100,000 in legal fees. The grant is posted to Submittable and referenced on the forum. Dan will reach out to QEDIT and ask them to post it to a new thread for the community and ZCG to review.
- QEDIT also posted a revised version of their stablecoin proposal.
- ZCG will set up a call with QEDIT to discuss the stablecoin proposal and amendments QEDIT plans to make to their Asset Swap grant to replace current milestone with new milestones to support Zebra feature development. The amount of the grant is expected to stay unchanged.
