Also, what’s the process to decide who’s voting authority on votes? If it would be a free service (as it should be), then it wouldn’t matter but apparently (“Q5: Zcash Community Voting Authorities”) some crazy amount of money is being requested for doing almost nothing. I personally took on this role once so I know there’s hardly anything that justifies those amounts.

There are arguably very large amounts requested elsewhere too. I believe the process is to let the coin voters decide.
