Hello, community! I’m sharing an update on the first donation made to some of those affected in Venezuela.
Overview
This report outlines the relief efforts managed by Yendira Delgado to assist families from La Guaira, Venezuela, who were forced to migrate to Maracay after a double earthquake on June 24, 2026, damaged their homes. A group of 15 displaced adults and children were taken in by a local resident, Mrs. Coromoto Balcázar, in the Piñonal Sur sector of Maracay.
Assessing the Needs
After verifying the details with one of the affected individuals (Mrs. Marbelis), it was confirmed that the group included 7 children (six girls aged 4 to 12 and one 10-year-old boy). Since food and basic necessities were already sufficiently supplied by neighbors, the specialized aid focused entirely on the children’s specific requests: underwear and recreational/educational materials to keep them engaged and sheltered from the tragedy. Nutritious snack foods were also added to the initiative.
Financial Management & Crypto Integration

Funding: The relief was funded via $250 USD in Zcash (ZEC) provided by Roosevelt Gordones through the “Z-AID for Venezuela” fundraising campaign.

Conversion Route: Due to unreliable local P2P options on standard exchanges, the coordinator used a secure path: transferring ZEC to CoinEx, swapping it into Tron (TRX) for low network fees, and routing it through the Orinoco.io payment gateway to successfully convert the funds into Venezuelan Bolívares (VES).

Budget and Expenses: Due to a favorable exchange rate, they obtained Bs. 173,594.58 (equivalent to $271.37 USD at the official BCV rate on July 2, 2026).

Play & Learning Items: Bs. 85,259.21 (Ludo, Bingo, coloring books, notebooks, colored pencils, playdough, etc.).

Clothing: Bs. 47,082.00 (undergarments tailored to the children’s sizes and shopping bags to assemble individual kits).

Nutritious Snacks: Bs. 27,854.83 (powdered milk, oats, cornstarch, and nutritional cereal).

Logistics: Bs. 9,595.50 (taxi transport for purchasing and delivery).

Refund: A remaining unspent balance of Bs. 3,803.04 ($5.22 USD) was converted back into 0.0112 ZEC and successfully returned to the original Z-AID campaign wallet on July 3, 2026.
Delivery
The purchased items were organized into 7 customized gender-and-age-appropriate kits and successfully delivered directly to Mrs. Coromoto and Mrs. Marbelis to distribute to the children. All transaction receipts, asset-swap screenshots, inventory photos, and a confirmation of the delivery are fully documented in the report.
