Description of Problem or Opportunity

Latin America is a region with diverse economic problems and needs: inflation, poverty, difficulties in accessing efficient means of payment, an inefficient banking system, low savings capacity, but also a profound lack of financial privacy.

In some countries this has allowed governments to control their citizens, limiting their ability to obtain forms of money that offer economic freedom to study, to entrepreneurship, and to access new possibilities for individual and collective growth.

This creates deep social inequality, migration, and a constant search for the means to survive in the midst of social and economic crises for many years.

Despite this, blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies have proven to be a source of opportunities and resources for thousands of Latin Americans to undertake in the midst of these difficulties. In many cases, cryptocurrencies have become the main means for migrants to send money to their families back home. Latin blockchain projects have even emerged, as well as entrepreneurships and businesses with the help of cryptocurrencies.

In turn, there are many crypto projects that have managed to capture the attention of Latinos through meetups, communities, ambassadors, specialised media, and international events in Central and South America.

Despite the positive impact that some of these projects have had in the region, none of them offer the private electronic money needed to help build free and equal societies, with dignity, consent, and self-sovereignty.

With the historical and political experiences of the last decades, it is clear that Latin Americans need a form of private money that upholds their fundamental human rights to freedom, security, and privacy to grow in equality of economic opportunity as in other countries of the world.

Zcash is that alternative that is lacking in the world’s largest Spanish-speaking region, from Mexico to Patagonia.

However, there are several challenges to be faced for Zcash to become better known in Latam, as is the case with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Tether. To achieve this, an educational and digital dissemination project is needed to put ZEC in the pockets of thousands of Spanish speakers, taking advantage of the power of the technology developed by Zcash, the various wallets in its ecosystem, Free2z, ZecHub, ZK Audiovisual Club, Zcash Brasil and future projects under development that could be useful to get these Latinos on board the financial privacy train.

Proposed Solution: Describe the solution at a high level

Who contributes to this proposal? The Zcash en Español team consists of 5 members: @AuraBritoSM, @gordonesTV, @Edicksonjga, @robmarn, and @yoditar.

Zcash en Español was founded on Telegram in September 2020 by @yoditar, accompanied by a blog on the Publish0x platform. The intention of this first stage was to offer information, support, advice, and promote Zcash among the Hispanic community in Latin America.

From March 2022, when the Global Ambassador Program (GAP) started, @yoditar created the digital spaces, expanded to an account on X/Twitter, a new blog on Medium and Free2z, a newsletter on Substack, a YouTube channel, and a collaboration with the Zcash Brazil team on Discord.

In the following months of that year, new contributors joined Zcash en Español such as @gordonesTV, @AuraBritoSM, @Edicksonjga, @robmarn, and other members of the Spanish community. Some of them are writers on the Zcash en Español website blog.

@gordonesTV and @AuraBritoSM created the first Zcash en Español website in July 2022. They then founded Zcast, the first Zcash en Español podcast, thanks to a Minor Grant from the Zcash Foundation.

During the GAP, many events, activities, content, translations, and online support were developed with the support of these Spanish community members, which helped the growth and digital presence of this community. Projects such as Free2z, ZecHub and ZK Audiovisual Club counted with the active participation and support of several members of the Hispanic community.

At the end of this program, the existing platforms and content have continued to be partially sustained in order to continue with the work previously carried out. The intention is to avoid losing what we have achieved after more than two years of hard work and to expand it in a new phase.

However, as a team we want to take back and expand on what we have built to help Zcash reach a wider Hispanic community in Latin America from North America, through Central America to South America and the Caribbean through a strong digital presence, using a variety of platforms and strategies.

Taking into account the problems and opportunities mentioned above, we have developed a proposal that will help solve these problems.

Our work will focus on informing, educating, and promoting Zcash and financial privacy through various platforms and digital activities to reach as many people in Latin America as possible, without physical or geographical limitations.

The intention is to promote awareness about the importance of financial privacy with Zcash in Latam, the adoption of ZEC through the use of the wallets by businesses and their customers, and the active participation of new members in existing projects such as Free2z, ZecHub, and ZK Audiovisual Club, but also other projects that arise in the coming months and years.

We will also be looking for Hispanic developers to join the Zcash community with new project proposals.

This will help in the consolidation of Zcash as an attractive alternative in Latam for financial freedom.

To achieve this, we have divided our proposal into the following digital projects:

Digital operations

The ability to build trust and engagement in a global community requires a constant digital presence. To reach as many people in Latin America as possible, we will create informative and educational content that we will publish every week on different social networks and Zcash en Español platforms. We will also hold regular online events and support community members on Discord, Telegram, X/Twitter, and other platforms. All of this will allow us to introduce Zcash to new users, as well as further engage with existing supporters and future new members who will join the global Zcash community from Zcash en Español.

The Zcash en Español digital presence will be implemented as follows:

Discord/Telegram

We will support the existing community and new members joining Zcash en Español. On these two platforms we will be able to solve problems people may have with wallets, share information, translations, news, tutorials, updates, and teach them how to access the Zcash ecosystem (Free2z, ZecHub, ZK Audiovisual Club, etc.). Discord and Telegram have been two very helpful digital spaces to connect and generate engagement with the Hispanic community.

You can join the Discord and Telegram community here and here.

X/Twitter

We will post informative and educational content about Zcash from the Zcash en Español account and help drive content from other accounts in the Zcash ecosystem on X/Twitter. We will support followers and host a bi-weekly Spaces to discuss news, updates, and other topics of interest around Zcash. This will allow us to reach new followers of the crypto ecosystem, while raising awareness of Zcash and financial privacy to people who don’t know about it in Latam.

You can see the X/Twitter account here.

YouTube

We will publish informative and educational content about Zcash in Spanish and support followers. We will make tutorials and short videos to promote Zcash on YouTube, X/Twitter, Discord, Telegram, and Free2z. These videos will be a good resource to support the articles we will publish on Substack, Free2z, and the Zcash en Español website blog.

You can see the videos we have already published here.

Substack

We will publish a monthly newsletter at the beginning of each month with a summary of the most important Zcash news from the previous month. This will allow us to inform community members who may not be able to keep up with Zcash news every week. The newsletter is a different format to the one offered by Spaces and Zcast, which will be adapted to users who prefer this type of publication instead of audio or video. On this platform we will be able to introduce Zcash to a new audience engaged with the content published on Substack. It will also be additional content to promote Zcash in Spanish on X/Twitter, Discord, and Telegram, both for our community members and for other people who don’t know about Zcash in Latam.

You can read the newsletters we have already published here.

Free2z

We will publish translations of articles from ECC, ZF, or any other Zcash related organisation for the non-English speaking community. It will also be additional content to promote Zcash in Spanish on X/Twitter, Discord, and Telegram.

You can read the translations we have already published here.

Zcash en Español website blog

We will publish an average of 6 to 8 original articles per month about crypto, blockchain, and Zcash to promote the Zcash website and attract new members to its community. These articles will be able to introduce Zcash to a new audience in Latam. It will also be additional content to promote Zcash in Spanish on X/Twitter, Discord, and Telegram. The articles will be written by members of the Zcash en Español community.

You can read the articles we have already published here.

Graphic Design

Establish a permanent communication with the aforementioned team members to generate audiovisual and multimedia material about Zcash and the communication needs in the ecosystem and in the Spanish community. With this we seek to achieve the following:

  • Reach the target audience through images and videos.
  • Establish the Zcash message for the Hispanic community and define the focus and visual narrative of the pieces, be it a logo, a flyer, a social media post, images for the website, videos, etc.
  • Develop images and visual content, choosing appropriate colours, fonts, and layouts.
  • Collaborate with other designers in the global community to create graphics and visual content for community engagement efforts, such as community forums, newsletters, and social media groups.
  • Support social media managers and venue managers in activities that require audio-visual pieces.
  • Support the team and community members with multimedia material for ideas that are presented.

In short, design is an essential part of marketing and everything related to the ecosystem of any blockchain project such as Zcash, as it is about communicating to the target audience what Zcash is with graphic concepts.

ZK Radio

The proposal aims to create an online radio whose main programming is the dissemination and information of the constant events of everything that happens in the Zcash ecosystem through entertainment activities, information, educational material, and dissemination to strengthen the awareness and practice of financial privacy in Latam.

The activities of ZK Radio will be the following:

  • Create a programming grid where all interested parties can produce their own spaces (programs) to broadcast their preferred topics and form a staff of collaborators within the radio programming.
  • To produce, collaborate, create, and advise those who want to be part of this project with their independent spaces, whether they are informative capsules, short films, advertising spaces, news programs, and spaces in general.
  • To address various topics within and outside the crypto ecosystem in general, and to educate on a theoretical and fundamental basis such as privacy and security with the use of technological and digital tools that exist for the protection of collective and individual privacy.
  • To constantly present outreach metrics and strengthen the interest of people who want to educate themselves and contribute to the growth of Zcash at all levels.
  • Thanks to the zcashesp.com team to have a web presence and consolidate the relationship between ZK Radio and the Zcash ecosystem, as well as to be part of the dissemination strategies to enrich the website, contribute to the hosting of the website, and create dynamics to attract more users to Zcash and give value to our universal and fundamental right to privacy and financial security.
  • Manage the ZK Radio account on X/Twitter to promote the content of the radio and Zcash en Español.
  • Promote Zcast episodes and Zcash en Español and Zcast Spaces as regular programming on ZK Radio.

You can listen to ZK Radio in beta stage here.

Zcast

Zcast is the first Zcash podcast in Spanish with two seasons published on its YouTube channel and other podcasting platforms. It will resume its bi-weekly episodes on YouTube and Spotify, where it will report on Zcash news, updates, and events, not only from the Spanish community, but also from the global community. Shorts will also be published to attract the attention of the Spanish-speaking audience to Zcash.

Additionally, from Zcast we will make 1 monthly Space on X/Twitter, touching not only on topics within the Zcash community, but also on issues related to privacy and financial security. Manage the Zcast account on X/Twitter to promote the content of the podcast and Zcash en Español content.

You can watch episodes of the first two seasons on the Zcash en Español website or on YouTube.

Zcash en Español website

The website will continue to publish weekly technical articles, tutorials, and opinion articles on the blog, covering various topics related to the Zcash ecosystem, but also to the blockchain ecosystem in general. All in a friendly language, aimed at the basic and intermediate user.

The intention of the website is to bring the Spanish-speaking audience closer to Zcash with an easy to understand language.

For the blog, we currently have 9 contributing bloggers, and 1 editor, who are responsible for feeding content to the website.

On the site, we have direct access to:

  • Zcast’s latest videos, to keep the audience up to date.
  • ZK Radio, so people can listen directly to the radio programming.
  • The Zcashers Entrepreneurs Directory, a space similar to Pay with Zcash, but with Spanish-speaking businesses and entrepreneurs. The idea is to show which businesses and initiatives accept Zcash as a form of payment in Latam.
  • Virtual shop (under construction), a space similar to the ZecHub shop, where Zcash-related t-shirts, jumpers, caps, mugs, etc. will be offered. The idea of this virtual shop is to offer Zerch (merchandise), as well as to generate income for the maintenance of the hosting and domain of the website.

You can visit the website here.

Solution Format: What is the exact form of the final deliverable you’re creating?

  • Increased visibility of Zcash in the Spanish-speaking audience.
  • Management of all the aforementioned digital spaces, as well as monitoring and analysis of their metrics.
  • Community management and advice on wallets and other Zcash platforms.
  • Creation, management, and moderation of face-to-face and online events (X/Twitter Spaces, Discord Calls, special programs on ZK Radio, online and broadcast, Telegram and YouTube Streamings, etc.). We will place special emphasis on measuring people impacted, and new users or wallets installed.
  • Translation into Spanish of the main articles and contents of the ECC, the ZF, and other media of interest in the ecosystem.
  • Through Zcast and ZK Radio, content will be generated about privacy and financial security, with an emphasis on Zcash and its allied projects.
  • Audiovisual broadcasting and subtitled translation of live events (YouTube, Discord Call, Telegram, Free2Z, and other platforms) carried out by the teams of ZecHub, ZKAV, ZF, Zcash Brazil, Zcash Russia and other projects of the Zcash ecosystem.
  • Participation in Spaces, Lives, and AMAs of other blockchain projects in the region and Spanish-speaking countries. This in order to reach new audiences.
  • Creation of POAPs, bounties, challenges, and contests in the different activities, in order to activate the playful participation of the attendees. Rewards will be paid in shielded ZEC to incentivize the use of wallets and financial privacy.
  • Creation of audiovisual tutorials in Spanish about Zcash, as well as the translation of those already made by the ZecHub and other Zcash projects.
  • Creation of Zcash designs in Spanish for the content, activities, and events of each of the aforementioned digital spaces.

Technical Approach: Dive into the how of your project. Describe your approaches, components, workflows, methodology, etc. Bullet points and diagrams are appreciated!

  • Creation of long and short videos on YouTube.
  • Creation of radio programs on ZK Radio.
  • Creation of videos in podcast format in Zcast.
  • Broadcasting of events carried out by teams and individuals that make up the Zcash ecosystem or are of informative and educational importance (Spaces, calls, meetings, activities).
  • Generate alliances with entities of the Zcash ecosystem to create spaces where there is global participation of Zcashers, as well as activities that invite the interaction of the community in general.
  • Spanish translation of official documentation, posts, and important content from ZCG, ZF, ECC, ZecHub, etc. on Free2z and X/Twitter.
  • Produce and create interaction activities to further engage users within the ecosystem and beyond, who are interested in Zcash (ZK) financial privacy technology.
  • Generation of tutorials, guides, opinion articles, and information on the YouTube channel and the blog of the Zcash en Español website.
  • Community Management and Community Building in X/Twitter, Telegram, Discord, YouTube, Substack, Spotify, and other digital spaces where we have presence.
  • Support and guidance to new users who start using Zcash wallets in Telegram, Discord, X/Twitter, YouTube, and other digital spaces where we have presence.
  • Expansion of informational/educational activities targeting new users on ZK Radio, Zcast, Telegram, Discord, and X/Twitter.
  • Expansion of Zcash not only in Venezuela, but also in the rest of Spanish speaking countries in Latin America.
  • We aim to start forming groups of users interested in learning about Zcash in countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, etc., which can expand the information and adoption of Zcash.

Dependencies: What external entities is your project dependent on? What involvement is required from ZF, ECC, and/or other external organizations? Who would have to incorporate your work in order for it to be usable?

We do not depend on any external entity or third parties to carry out our activities.

Execution risks: What obstacles do you expect? What is most likely to go wrong? Which unknown factors could jeopardize success? Who would have to incorporate your work in order for it to be usable?

There are no execution risks to carry out the activities proposed and the contents to be created, since everything proposed will be developed online with the work of the 5 team members.

Unintended Consequences: What are the negative ramifications if your project is successful? Consider usability, stability, privacy, integrity, availability, decentralization, interoperability, maintainability, technical debt, requisite education, etc.

N/A

Evaluation plan: What metrics for success will you share with the community once you’re done? In addition to quantitative metrics, what qualitative metrics will you commit to report?

Despite not having an active Ambassadors Program, the different digital spaces have remained active, which are:

  • Website (with an average of 1,800 visits per month).
  • Telegram and Discord channel within the global server
  • Zcash en Español, Zcast and ZK Radio X/Twitter accounts.
  • Zcash en Español YouTube Channel
  • Zcast YouTube Channel
  • Zcast Spotify

The first 5 days of each month we will present a detailed report in the Zcash forum with the activities, events, and content published in the different digital spaces of the project in the previous month. In this report, we will include the corresponding metrics, as well as any additional information according to activities, programs, and/or extra broadcasts as a result of any additional events taking place in the Zcash ecosystem.

Past and current metrics (2022-2024)

2022

Zcash en Español Report (English and Spanish version)

  • Organic traffic to our website has grown 60%.
  • Of that traffic to the website 43% comes from social networks
  • We have received 3,200 visitors, and 7,900 views
  • The main search terms used by visitors to the website are: “How to mine zcash”, “translate zcash”, “zcash in Spanish”, “zcash wallets”, “zingo”.
  • The countries that most search for and consume Zcash content in Spanish: United States, Venezuela, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Chile, and Colombia.

Source of these metrics: Google Search Console.

Zcast 2023-2024 metrics

  • 2 seasons.
  • 55 videos.
  • 136 subscribers on YouTube.
  • 264 followers on X/Twitter.
  • Countries reached: Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, USA, Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany.

ZK Radio 2024

Since the creation and airing of ZK Radio, and starting the collection of information from the selected online radio server in approximately 3 months, we have achieved important metrics of radio impact:

  • X/Twitter: we have reached 96 active followers and more than 2,300 impressions.
  • Countries reached: Venezuela, United States, Canada, Germany, France, Brazil, United Kingdom, Colombia, Mexico, Russia, Peru, El Salvador, and others. In each of these countries, an average of at least 5 sessions have been connected.

These results were obtained with an approximate of 651 sessions and more than 100 hours taken from the metrics where a maximum is reached in retransmissions of spaces and conversations related to privacy and security.

There were 294 visits to the native blog of the radio server, before its publication in Free2Z, and this number increased by 30% after migrating to the Zcash en Español website.

The statistics of devices where the radio has been listened to:

  • Desktop: 475
  • Android: 166
  • iPhone: 46

Sources of these metrics: tweetbinder.com and tools.zeno.fm (radio service server).

We believe that we have achieved these excellent numbers without organized activities, and that we can increase them with a conscious and joint organization of the Spanish community.

For me it is a real pride to be part of this proposal…
The approach of this team is ideal to work together, we have worked in several projects and our synchronization and excellent communication has given the positive and incredible results we have today…
We are a real team where each one of us fulfills with our skills the tasks that are assigned between all of us…
Collaboration and professionalism has always been present!!!
Thank you for making me part of this!!!

And I quote a phrase that I have always liked:

I thought I would see a couple of other names here who, despite their recent personal problems, did their best to contribute to the community while they had the chance but, we weren’t even contacted for this. So I guess I was wrong when I got to speak on behalf o the Zcash en Español team when we were not even considered a real part of it…

Thanks for the opportunity, I guess… Still, good luck on this…

I fully agree with Tecnopapapi (Alexis).

First of all, I find out that “Zcash en Español” belongs to 5 people.

On the other hand, I consider that to be a proposal under the name and the “team” of “La comunidad de Zcash en Español” should have consulted and even contacted the members that for some years have been active in the community from their possibilities.

Members such as Zula, Jahlexis, Elizabeth, Mayra, Sheemprende (Sheila), Alexis, and others, should have been considered and contacted to suggest them the remote possibility of participating in such a proposal.

If the point is inactivity…

Some members, such as myself, Tecnopapapi (Alexis), and others, have had personal, family and economic problems during the last semester, which have been combined with the situation of the country (Venezuela), among other factors.

However, the contributions of the aforementioned members have been and even have proven to be extremely important in a small part of the Zcash ecosystem in recent years, such as Zechub, Free2Z, the Zcash website in Spanish, conferences (Zcon), etc… That they have not been taken into account, or even informed, results in a rather unpleasant and disloyal move for the community where it even becomes a statement of intent where several “members” of the community are definitely not considered as part of it.

This is not the meaning neither of team, nor of community, nor of “for the community”.

In spite of all this… To quote Tecnopapapi’s words:

Thanks for the opportunity, I guess… Still, good luck on this one…

I am very happy, honored and proud to be part of this initiative, and to share this responsibility with people I appreciate and admire.

I discovered Zcash in 2022 thanks to @yoditar and its tireless activity to spread Zcash, its wallets, its technology, and privacy, and I can’t be more than grateful.

Constant work definitely pays off, so I’m sure we’ll do a great job. Thanks to the global community for your support.

While we’re on the subject of quoting quotes, here’s one I strongly believe in:

“Action speaks louder than words. A committed team proves its worth with deeds.”

While we’re on the subject of quoting quotes, here’s one I strongly believe in:

“Action speaks louder than words. A committed team proves its worth with deeds.”

So, you out of all people, consider that my contributions are not worth enough to even consider the possibility of being a member, but yours are. Sad to see the one who somehow brough me in reply with such a quote, simply implying, out of pride and arrogance, that my contributions were worthless.

But it serves to open my eyes about the real spirit behind the very foundations of the Zcash en Español “community”.

I’m dropping the mic, not worth to carry this discussion in a public space. But I couldn’t remain silent on YOUR particular reply.

My best wishes…

It is good to know that you want to continue building community in all possible spaces. As I always say: communities have power and are the ideal space for projects to grow thanks to the activity and contributions of its members.

We are confident that this proposal will be successful in reaching more Spanish-speaking people.

Let’s keep building!

It’s natural as things grow for there to be splits in the community. It’s inevitable. I highly value contributions to Zcash and f2z that everyone in the Spanish-speaking community has made. As @Tecnopapapi and @EnderAR pointed out, the community is a lot bigger than those represented in this grant. But, this grant doesn’t have to be the only thing going on. I think the grant is reasonable and I support it. But, we should also be ready to get other streams revved up. In general, I’d like to see things move toward retroactive DAOs with decentralized control and payouts denominated in ZEC rather than USD-denominated grants paid proactively to individuals. But, one step at a time.

Of course it is!

I totally agree with you: communities are the sum of their parts, and all active parts count.

I believe that the work we do from Zcash Brazil and Zcash en Español can be the prototype to gradually migrate to the governance model you suggest.

All ideas and proposals are welcome!

Thank you for your support @skyl! If you or any member has any questions about the proposal, we will be happy to answer them.

As you can see, we will be working on many projects in the Zcash en Español community, so we will be inviting other community members to collaborate as we have always done. But one step at a time.

The Zcash community is taking important steps to decentralize Zcash. I hope we will have new and better governance models in the future.

I think it’s a great proposal. I do wish the deliverables were a bit more specific and quantifiable. Ex: deliver XXX number of workshops, covering topics YYY for audiences AAA, in person and/or via platforms ZZZ per milestone; XXX number of Zcast/ZK Radio episodes covering topics like BBB per milestone; XXX number of online events/newsletters/new people reached/etc. These numbers don’t have be exact, just some estimates to help us see your vision and the steps you will take to get there. Specifics make it easier for the rest of the community to collaborate and elevate the deliverables. This is a very important proposal with a lot of potential. I’m sure you’ll deliver once again. This group is an asset to the community.

Which is why it’s a bummer to see a divide within this great group of people. I hope it can be resolved.
@Tecnopapapi, if this break can’t be mended, I hope you will consider submitting your own proposal. We need more activity in LATAM, not less. Please don’t be discouraged. :hearts:

I’m glad to be part of this proposal, since I’ve been in the Zcash community I’ve been contributing in different spaces, doing my bit to contribute with the education that many users need when they are new to Zcash. :sunglasses:

Zcash en Español has been no exception, it was there where I met this project, where I learned about financial privacy and from where I joined other parts of the ecosystem, such as Free2Z, ZecHub, ZingoLabs, YWallet, etc.

I’ll be happy to continue sharing what I’ve learned and thus encourage more people to get to know Zcash! :shield::shield:

Hello @peacemonger and @yoditar:
Indeed already my program “The Block” is in development, and and I am preparing an update for October to December that is in line with the proposal. The programs that we have in planning (Noticiero Cripto and Autodefensa Digital) will be part of our grid or programming in those months, however I comment; within the programming of ZKRadio are also included spaces in X and meetings or events that are developed from other communities (Zcash Brazil, Zcash Global, Meetings, workshops, and other spaces that are necessary to disseminate their educational content and information. There are events that are not scheduled or produced on a constant basis and are not included in the proposal, but the ZKRadio team is always attentive to any news and does the corresponding (records, edits, programs and rebroadcasts) and broadcasts on its social networks at various times and repetitions, for example at this time we have 2 spaces of x in this week’s programming on the radio.

In turn, ZKRadio is open to “everyone” in the global community for those who are interested in having their radio program, previews, information, recordings and whatever they think is necessary to inform everyone inside and outside the ecosystem.

Anyone interested can contact ZKRadio and discuss their program proposal, record their program and share it with us to add it to the programming.

@peacemonger you can also have your space and radio program with us. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Looks great! When (:crossed_fingers:) your grant gets approved, let’s sync up to figure out how to collaborate on the some of the content and events! At the very least, we can compare notes and exchange tips.

Can I come to ZParty?

This is a good start to an important movement which I believe would benefit Zcash [and Zcashers] greatly.

The collaborations that I’ve personally shared with @robmarn :metal: @gordonesTV :heart_hands: @AuraBritoSM have been spectacular, smooth and refreshing. Their individual knowledge, skills and passion are rare and cannot be understated. As a team, forget about it. I’m honored to have them as vital participants in Zk Av Club activities. At Zcons and beyond!

Their collective strengths would be a major benefit to the network, especially in these months leading up to: halvening and network upgrade, ZCG committee elections and governance discussions. All happening right now, in English.

imo this proposal would have been a great thing to see back when Zcash Brazil was spun out of @Michae2xl’s ambassadorship. Zechub’s history also holds a lot a hope for the future of both Zcash Global en Español and Zcash Global Brazil. DAO structure governing a bounty pool or smth. Who knows? It’s so early.

Let’s start somewhere. I suggest here and now :fist:

edit: when i worked for (Z)ECC, part of my job title was “Translation coordinator” or smth like that. I collaborated with translators to get all of z.cash and, later, electriccoin.co translated into 8 or 9 languages. This was 2017-2021, so I forget the finer details. My point is that Spanish was consistently among the most accessed localizations of those sites during those years. Our decision to stop translating all that content still weighs on me. I believe Zcash took a big hit because of it. @joshs has some spreadsheets of metrics specifically about regions and languages of folks who accessed those sites, gathered from G-analytics.

Thanks for your words, Ryan!

Personally I have also been able to meet and share with several members of the global Zcash community and with you, and you really have a lot of talent and commitment.

Regarding our proposal, it is certainly important that Zcash reaches more languages, and Spanish is the 3rd most spoken language in the world, so yes, we think that the reach of our community can bring a lot of value. :muscle:

Thank you for your support.
