Over the past few months, we’ve focused on ecosystem growth in Kenya through community onboarding, consistent educational content on X, and building a dedicated Zcash Telegram group for structured learning around privacy-preserving blockchain technology.
This next phase is about scaling that effort beyond small community circles by integrating Zcash into a larger, high-quality Web3 audience through the Kenya Blockchain & Crypto Conference (KBCC) 2026, expected to bring together over 1,000+ developers, founders, and ecosystem participants.
Zcash remains largely underrepresented in East Africa’s blockchain conversations, particularly around zero-knowledge privacy systems and real-world shielded transaction use cases. This creates a clear opportunity to position Zcash where meaningful technical discussions are already happening.
The plan is for Zcash to participate as a Gold Sponsor at KBCC 2026, with a speaking slot, exhibition booth, and direct engagement with attendees, followed by a post-event Zcash Privacy Workshop in Nairobi focused on hands-on onboarding, shielded transactions, and practical usage of Zcash tools such as wallet setup and usability improvements like Zcash Names.
We are requesting startup funding to support:
$5,000 – KBCC Gold Sponsorship
$500 – branding materials (banners, T-shirts, caps, merchandise)
The objective is simple: increase awareness, drive real onboarding, and position Zcash within active blockchain conversations in East Africa through both conference engagement and post-event technical education.
We are also actively seeking community feedback on this proposal and would appreciate insights, suggestions, or areas of improvement from contributors and ecosystem participants.
