Zcash Privacy Developers Residency Maiden Edition

:rocket::zebra: Day 1: The Zcash Developers Residency Programme Begins!

Today, September 1st, 2026, marks the official arrival and induction phase of the maiden Zcash Developers Residency Programme.

Some of our resident developers have already arrived at the residency venue in Nigeria. They have been checked into their apartments, welcomed with breakfast, and presented with the official Residency T-shirts.

It is an exciting moment for us because this journey has moved from an idea and community conversation into a real-world developer residency.

Our residents are joining us from Ghana, Nigeria and Togo, bringing together different experiences, skills and perspectives with one shared objective:

Learn. Build. Collaborate. Contribute to the future of financial privacy with Zcash.

For the next three weeks, residents will participate in technical lectures, hands-on development, team projects, mentorship, community activities and practical challenges covering areas including Zcash architecture, wallets, shielded payments, SDKs, full-stack development, privacy applications, security, testing, deployment, open-source development and entrepreneurship.

The residency is also designed to be community-driven.

Key sessions will be made available virtually where possible, while the wider Zcash community will have opportunities to follow the residents’ progress, participate online and vote on selected tasks, projects and outstanding achievements.

We want this residency to demonstrate something important:

Africa has developers capable of building serious privacy-preserving technology—and Zcash can provide an important foundation for that innovation.

Today, we welcome our residents.

Tomorrow, we build. :laptop::zebra:

The journey has officially begun.

Privacy is Normal. Shielded by design. Built by developers.
