I’ve been working on a structured curriculum with @ZecHub team, aimed at onboarding and training developers into the Zcash ecosystem, with a strong focus on Privacy tech and zero-knowledge systems
The goal is simple:
Raise a new generation of Zcash developers in emerging regions
Right now, there is a noticeable gap: there are little to no developers deeply skilled in zk-proofs and privacy-preserving systems in emerging regions like Africa. At the same time, the demand and relevance of privacy tech in the region continues to grow especially with a country like Nigeria becoming one of the top adopters of crypto-centric applications
Africa is a high-potential region but without native developers, adoption will remains limited.
What I’m Building
A curriculum which is designed as an intensive program that takes developers from:
Blockchain fundamentals
Zcash architecture & zk-SNARKs
Running nodes and interacting with the network
All the way to building real applications and contributing to open source
I’m excited to share an initiative focused on one key goal:
Raising more developers within the Zcash
To address the current gap in developer onboarding and contribution, I’ll be hosting a 6-7 week virtual Zcash Developer Workshop designed to take participants from learning → building → contributing.
The workshop focuses on onboarding developers to Zcash through structured, hands-on learning in privacy-preserving technologies and real-world application development.
Onboarding Call Details
Date: May 16th, 2026
Time: 7 PM UTC+1
Venue: Google Meet
Format: Virtual
This will also be an opportunity for participants to meet fellow developers, ask questions, and begin engaging with the broader Zcash builder community.
Looking forward to meeting the participants there
A huge thanks to @ZecHub for their constant support
This great I’m working an Zcash wallet I’ll love to help with building a zebrad and installing Nozywallet CLI wallet to teach them how to run node mange the node and data and run testnet to debug and try to break things etc. Showing user how to use the terminal with a friendly fully shielded wallet so no mistakes can be made exposing the user. The CLI wallet will help them thinking about making an AI agent to help them as well just a brainstrom.
As part of the ongoing Zcash Developer Workshop, we’re excited to announce a special guest session for one of our upcoming workshop sessions.
We’ll be joined by @shieldedmarkfrom Shielded Labs for a technical session focused on:
Understanding Zcash Architecture
This session is designed to help participants develop a deeper understanding of the systems and infrastructure that power Zcash.
Topics will include:
Overview of Zcash architecture
Core components of the network
How privacy is implemented at the protocol level
Key concepts developers should understand before building
Our goal with this workshop is not only to teach tools but to help participants understand the foundations behind privacy-first development and how Zcash works under the hood.
Date: 27th May 2026 Time: 8:00 PM UTC+1 Venue: Google Meet
We’re looking forward to an insightful session and a great opportunity for participants to engage more deeply with the technical side of the ecosystem.
We were privileged to have @Lowo88 share with us his technical journey in building nozy wallet and it was a beautiful experience learning how zcash builder are currently shaping privacy preserving products
He also shared with us his experience and the hiccups along the journey of building
Whilst he’s still building
We look forward to have see future upgrades to nozy wallet especially the dynamic fees feature
I’ve been reflecting on the call since yesterday, I really feel good about explaining nozy to everyone yesterday and it helped my confidence to keep going and to know my project is getting recognition. I also drop update the CLI release Release v2.3.6.1 — Teriyaki Hot (CLI) · LEONINE-DAO/Nozy-wallet. I have removed a lot of the extra duplicate downloaded links as well so it’s much easier to find the CLI wallet only to downloads for Zebrad node operators.
Builder Series: ZcashNames with Zechariah.zcash & Craftsoldier
As part of the ongoing Zcash Developer Workshop, we’re excited to host another Builder Series session featuring the team behind ZcashNames.
ZcashNames is helping improve the Zcash user experience by introducing human-readable identities, making it easier for users to interact with the ecosystem without relying solely on long wallet addresses.
In this session, @Zechariah and@craftsoldier will share the story behind building ZcashNames, including:
* The vision behind ZcashNames
* Product architecture and technical design decisions
* Challenges of building identity infrastructure on Zcash
* Lessons learned from launching and maintaining a real product
* Opportunities for developers interested in contributing to the ecosystem
This session is ideal for developers, builders, and anyone interested in how user-facing products are designed and deployed within the Zcash ecosystem.
The Builder Series is designed to give workshop participants direct access to teams actively building in the Zcash ecosystem, providing practical insights that go beyond documentation and tutorials.
We look forward to seeing you there and learning more about the journey behind one of the ecosystem’s emerging products.
