This project started officially on June 30th 2025 with the creation of its X (twitter) handle @ZcashGH, where contents promoting Zcash and financial privacy were posted. Also we have been able to host 7 X-Space events and 7 physical meetups and 3 workshops, where we have educated over 400 persons in all the in-person meetups about Zcash and onboard them to Zcash through the creation of their Zcash wallets. Currently we now have the skills to setup the Zcash Node and we have over 400 followers on our X handle (@ZcashGH). The Goal is to continue building an active Zcash Ghana community across various cities in Ghana. Educate Ghanaians about Zcash’s privacy features and real-world applications. Increase the accessibility of Zcash-related content and enhance user engagement through interactive activities, contests, and webinars. Encourage discussions on blockchain privacy and financial security within Ghana and ensuring wider adoption and understanding of privacy-focused blockchain technology in Ghana and Africa at large. Foster collaborations between Zcash and regional blockchain developers to create new privacy-focused solutions. Despite the growing interest in cryptocurrencies, most individuals and businesses in Ghana are not aware of privacy-focused solutions like Zcash blockchain protocol, which could enable them to manage their finances safely, securely and privately. Good! Thanks for the information. I saw your PM as well, but I’d prefer to discuss this publicly. I’m just trying to figure out whether I can trust this person or not. It seems he applied for a grant where everything looks perfect, and I’m trying to understand why he really used such polished AI-generated phrasing in his proposal.

Well, I discussed with him that we are going to run a Zcash Privacy Developers Residency program after the Zcash node was installed on our server, where we build a Zcash Privacy Payment machine, this I have also shared with some Zcash community members online. We have even bought some items for the Zcash Payment machine but I don’t know his current plans and what he applied for.

With this development of trust with him and high conflict of interest, he will be duly replaced with another cloud & security expert with immediate effect to manage our Zcash node & server related activities. Thank you.

I just saw his application now which has a breach of trust to the ecosystem, also we have had our discussion with him for our future plans and they are part of his application, thus it is a conflict of interest to us, so he has to be replaced with immediate effect.

Executive Summary

On 13 July 2026, Zcash Ghana successfully hosted the Financial Privacy Workshop for Sunyani UENR students. A total of 110 students attended. Participants learned about financial privacy, blockchain technology and Zcash, successfully installed the Zcash wallet, and engaged with the Zcash Ghana social media. The workshop achieved its goals of education, onboarding and community growth.

Introduce financial privacy; educate students about Zcash; onboard new wallet users; grow the Zcash Ghana community.
