Zcash Community Forum ### Requested Grant Amount (USD) $5941.00 ### Category Infrastructure ### Project Summary I have been hosting a website for the Zcash community since 2016. MineZcash.com was the first blog about Zcash and hosted news, mining, and updates in the pre-Alpha and Beta days and later I registered and transitioned to ZcashCommunity.com. Over the years I hosted a chat (RocketChat server), and a phbb style forum both of which were later retired in favor Discord and the current Discourse forum, respectively. This amount requested is to cover the out of pocket expenses I have paid to host the site for the 112 months as of the time of this application. ### Project Description Created a website with news, videos, and links to various resources Zcashers are interested in such as: - Community projects (ZecHub, PaywithZcash, etc) - Wallets (Zashi, Zingo, etc) - ZF and ECC Blogs - Mining and pool information - Educational video's ### Technical Approach (how you did it) Built and hosted WordPress sites and redesigned them several times throughout the years ### Time Period of Work Completion June 2016 - Present ### Total Budget (USD) $5941.00 ### Budget Breakdown Out of pocket expenses incurred: - Zcash Community VPS fees: $30 per month x 112 months = $3,360 - Wordfence Security: $20 per month x 112 months = $2,240 - Annual Domain Registration: $ 1.66 per month x 112 months = 186.66 - Amazon AWS for ECC Slack-Discord Bridge (3/20 to 10/22): $5 per month x 31 months = $155.00 - Admin rate: $0 per month x 122 months = $0 :-) ### Previous Funding Yes ### Previous Funding Details I have not applied for a grant before but I was part of the Zcash Foundations first "[TestTransition Awards](https://zfnd.org/test-transaction-awards/)" which I received 33 ZEC (approx $3k USD at the time ) to help cover the cost of running the RocketChat server which was $50 per month. I did not add the expense of the RocktChat server in this retroactive application. ### Other Funding Sources No ### Other Funding Sources Details _No response_ ### Success Metrics I did not track visitor usage metrics over the years for privacy. ### Proof of completion ZcashCommunity.com ### Conflict of Interest Disclosure I am a sub-contractor for the Zcash Foundation whos job is to help moderate and maintain the community forum.
