I am pretty heavily in favour of this idea, but to my mind coin voting does not necessarily eliminate the role for a committee. I could envision something like a committee that helps grantees clarify their proposals, makes liaisons between grant applicants and the community, and helps lead discussion. Of course, that could all happen voluntarily, but it certainly seems valuable to me. That decision itself could be coin voted.
Fortunately there is a natural alignment of incentive between holding ZEC and wanting Zcash to thrive. There is some risk around unpredictable whale behaviour, but maybe we can find a way to mitigate that. For example, maybe there’s a technical solution around maximum voting that isn’t defeated by shielding. I think we need to direct our massive collective brain power around here toward thinking through the actual mechanics of how coin voting could work, what problems could arise, and how to solve them.
If we’re really serious about decentralisation, then I think coin voting may be the most innovative and promising tool we have.

It is true.
Although I am not entirely convinced of the idea, I believe that debate and proposals about this mechanism would be productive in achieving decentralization.

Congratulations to you all! It’s been one of the hardest elections ever and that can be seen on the results as well.
In my modest opinion ZCG committee should be expanded to at least 7 members to allow more voices in.
