ruZcash’s new address parser has been added to EduZEC. To complete the app we are next adding memo detection and media to pages.
The Penumbra Bounty Program is progressing well, we have started up a Penumbra node with the aim of gathering network metrics. We’ll also be joining a Penumbra Community Call on May 14th.
Dismad has tested operating a locally hosted zcash explorer using zcashd. Using tailscale this is accessible anywhere. He’s also updated the scripts we use to collect network metrics for zebrad support as well as the open source zebraUtilities
Dismad has also been helping test zebrad + zaino, he found some bugs: bug1,bug2
Dismad is also helping manage the on going coinvote as an election authority as well host the election urls url1 , and here url2
@Vito has been managing our social channels, doing production on all tutorials, creating the Shielded Newsletter and reaching out to new projects for future events.

This month the calendar was kept very up to date with all Zcash events thanks to UknowZork.
PaywithZcash @speedfox completed development of the new Paywithz.cash website! He presented the project during our sync meeting. Next step is to point the existing domain to it.

Dismad is running a Namada node collecting network metrics for the Wiki Dashboard. He has recently joined the Namada Shielded Support Team! He is also currently performing in-person surveys on behalf of Brave, gathering feedback on UX.
@TheKroy created several posters DYK series, Events & Zero to Zero Knowledge. We made updates to the Discord server: operations channel restored + Bridges to Zcash Turkey/Zcash Nigeria Telegram channels. We continue to monitor and engage with the community.
Squirrel added formatting to the Dashboard Privacy Set visualisation, has been editing & reviewing Ecosystem Digests + sending out ZecHub Shielded Newsletters on Sundays.
We will be adding Penumbra network metrics to the Wiki Dashboard over the next few days. We hosted a Zcash x Penumbra Quiz in the #Penumbra portal channel.
Vito kept our social media accounts updated, including Twitter, Bluesky, and now resumed activity on Mastodon. Instagram is coming soon with Zork currently updating our TikTok. He curated the Zcash Shielded News + Arborist Call Summaries via Substack.
He connected with moderators from the Bluesky server towards a possible future podcast/event.
Piratechain created a group with us to collaborate on future events between both communities.
Vito assisted in organizing the “Crosslink Milestone #2” event with Jason McGee, he handled the recording, editing, and coordination during the call (Thank you, Mine, for the artwork).

We have an upcoming Community Call scheduled with Citrea on June 2nd @ 21:00 UTC.
At the start of the month we held a super interesting community call with Citrea. A more technical follow up discussion with their team is being arranged thanks to Vito & Jason McGee.
Squirrel attended Berlin Blockchain week as part of the ZKAV Club team. 2 Zcash livestreams were recorded featuring interviews on Near & Nillion. Huge thanks to Ryan and the team!
Dismad took part in the Zkool workshop held by Hanh. He also participated in a Namada challenge, performing a shielded swap on Osmosis. A tutorial demonstrating how to swap from Ethereum in Zcash using Leodex recorded by Dismad as well.
Dismad has also been working on rusty-zechub! A command line tool in rust that provides useful network data.
Vito worked on editing our videos, creating artwork for them, he has been in contact with several teams toward organising future community events in addition to writing/sending out editions of Zcash Shielded News + Arborist Calls. He also created shorts of the Arborist Calls, Crosslink Workshop and Red-dev at Avalanche’s London Summit!

Following Namada transfers being enabled, we’ll be setting up a multisig with DAO members.
In the process of integrating BTCPayServer with NYM, we needed a wallet with support of viewing key. I know a list of such wallets, but I immediately thought that this would probably be a frequent question for any payment integrator (merchant), so I turned here first: Wallets | Zechub.
It would be cool if there were filters on 1) having support for viewing key; 2) Linux support might also be a sought-after filter option. There has already been such a request.
I will link to this page in my installation instructions for Zcash plugin to make guide as adaptive as possible.
At the start of the month squirrel participated in a community call with OmniFlix, a Cosmos based platform on which we will begin using for interactive Zcash workshops.
A community space on ZK Rollups was held between Shielded Labs x Citrea was hosted by @januszgrze and @nathan-at-least Listen back to the replay here.
To mark the launch of Zcash payments becoming available 1337bytes + Squirrel joined the Nym livestream. In further collaboration with Nym, we actively participate in biweekly Privacy Stack co-marketing meetings.
Squirrel & Vito attended the Z|ECC Summit representing ZecHub & the ZKAV Club. It was helpful for us to get an idea of where Zcash is heading and brainstorm with other teams to better direct our education around relevant & useful subject matter. We recorded several interviews with Zashi Team, ECC and Zcash Foundation team members, Near, ZavaX and Qedit! Thank you to everyone who joined.
After a few discussions with the ZecHub community we followed through with a change to the Bounty Program. Tasks are now assigned to everyone that applies. They are assessed based on quality and timeliness of submission with reward paid out to the best.
Tutorial for lightwalletd was recorded and edited by Dismad and Vito. Tutorial for Zcash Shielded Metamask Snap recorded and edited by Squirrel and Vito.
Vito curated the Arborist Call Summaries sent out via substack and X. He also wrote the Zcash Shielded News posts this month. He worked on the podcast episode recoded at Z|ECC summit and later organised an introductory meeting with the Shapeshift team towards possible Zcash integration.
Kroy has worked on the ZecHub DYK Series posters. He’s also produced graphic designs for the Youtube video thumbnails and our Zingo 2.0 Podcast episode.

We are posting details about our Zcash Hackathon in the coming days. A DAO meeting was held on July 23rd. We reached consensus on project direction and our next steps.
ZecHub is now operating a Namada Validator and we are currently preparing a DAO proposal to launch a Namada Bounty Program alongside our Zcash Bounties.

Our Twitter activity went down in July, both in number of post and amount of impressions. This is strong evidence that posting consistantly makes a positive difference. Vito and Squirrel attended multiple IRL events which contributed to the lower numbers

The revamped ZecHub Dashboard was deployed with improved charts appearance & navigation between different charts. Our priority moving forward is resolving the markdown parsing issue so all pages load correctly.
Vito has been doing incredible post-production work on tutorials, including creating thumbnail designs, shorts, and summary clips of Arborist calls, as well as curating ZSN editions, X/Bluesky/Mastodon posts, and managing updates on the Discord server such as announcements, organization/maintenance, and implementations. Progress was made after our introductory call with Shapeshift, and contact has now been made with Hyperliquid following a private brainstorming session where we covered ecosystem topics—one of them being Michael’s tweet about a future integration.
We are now in touch with the team, exploring the possibility of integrating ZEC into Hyperliquid. Vito also contributed to the Crosslink Milestone #3 Workshop by organizing rooms, speakers, recordings, and edits in partnership with Jason McGee, and Mine, who was responsible for creating the main artwork of the event.
Dismad participated in the onsite Crosslink Milestone 3 Workshop! During August he recorded a tutorial for Zashi Swaps.
There was Coordination with Tron to ensure our Namada dashboard reflected correct data. During the ZecHub segment of ZKAV Club Foundry he presented utilities used to extract chain data for the Dashboard.
Squirrel wrote a Zero to Zero Knowledge article on Payment Processors. The Zingo 2.0 Podcast was recently released. Podcast episode and clips were cross posted between both Zingo & ZecHub. Bounty task creation, assisting contributors with task completion and processing of payments handled by Squirrel with assistance from FPF.
A DAO meeting was hosted on August 20th, thank you to everyone that joined and gave thoughts & ideas. Squirrel presented the ZecHub Treasury Report, discussed strategy for RFC’s Global Ambassador Proposals and the ZecHub Hackathon. Sync meetings now have an Early 16:00 UTC & Late 21:00 UTC time slots.
The ZecHub Hackathon has officially started! We invite Zcash supporters and enthusiasts to start up a Zebra Node, Lightwalletd Server or use Zingo-CLI to create an app or tool that people can use to interact with the network. Submission deadline: October 2nd, 2025.

This time of year is an important opportunity, why not try and reach out to one or a few physical education providers for a targeted video series? Some type of branded partnership, to increase those youtube video numbers! Why can’t Zechub be on udemy, oreilly, or better yet a local college.
During September Squirrel joined a podcast episode on Zcash with @LorenzoSchoenleber for the European School of Business. He also hosted a ZecHub Hackathon Community space on X. We covered each component of the Z3 stack as well as gave explainers on lightwallet servers, encrypted memos and future network upgrades. Thank you Pacu for joining!
Squirrel has coordinated with Decentralistdan towards sending Zcash swag from ZecHub Store for the upcoming Dark Prague event. He’s also been managing the Ecosystem Digest and Bounty program: creating tasks, reviewing submissions and scheduling payments.
A Community Town Hall on the Coinholder Directed Retroactive Grant Program was hosted by squirrel alongside Josh, Alex and Jason McGee. This was an informative discussion in which the reason and structure of the program was explained for the audience. Squirrel also joined the Digital Gold Talk Podcast last Friday to provide details on Zashi CrossPay, Crosslink and the NSM.
We collaborated with ZKAV Club towards the release of an interview with Juan from Nillion held during Berlin Blockchain Week. Another collab is in the works and will be made available soon!
Dismad also forked hahns zkool2 to figure out testnet support check out the video + detailed notes.
He reported progress on Namada bounty and work completed in Namada forums (This is for our validator bounty) He’s testing beta Zashi versions and has been working with Devs to help get a testnet version.
Vito has been working on post production of all tutorials including recording the Nym step by step Zcash payment demo. He posted articles on Substack, Free2Z, X, Bluesky, and Mastodon. He edited and posted Arborist Call and ZecHub event clips on X with subtitles.Towards the ShapeShift Collaboration, Vito is working towards a Community Call with both projects. He has been maintaining the Zcash Global Discord Server and has restreamed events such as Arborist Call.
