Project Updates

August was a month of many improvements across our channels and platforms. We shipped new features on the bounties platform, started a new X account for Zcash graphics, coordinated with ambassadors, spoke with new projects and we received a huge wave of updates from contributors on the Zcash Wiki site.

During the past few weeks Vito researched and edited five weekly editions of Zcash Shielded News (Vol.30–34), created Zcash educational articles and handled post-production on our ZEC Bounties Tutorial.

On the community side he handled community communications, Discord announcements, social content and moderation, prepared Sync meeting summaries on Substack and published the meeting recordings to Youtube. The community bridges were maintained with active participation in DAO coordination.

Squirrel edited and posted the weekly Ecosystem Digest editions, hosted the ZecHub Sync Meetings in addition to a community call with Zapp Wallet and participated in Spaces alongside Dismad with House of Chimera. Recordings of these calls were published to YouTube by Vito.

Kroy delivered consistent visual assets across all of our channels supporting our education, branding, and community engagement efforts.

A record 79 Bounties were reviewed and payments put forward to FPF for payment. Bug reports and user feedback from contributors and team members were handled by Tron throughout the month. The bounty platform now has a teams feature is now live with @Batuhan creating the Zcash Turkey team! Teams will allow any project to fund a wallet, list bounties, interact with contributors and make payments. We hope to see more people creating teams!

The Wiki site Tutorials section is now searchable by category or keyword. Several additions were made to the Community Projects page to keep up with the ecosystems rapid growth. Each Tool on the Wiki Tools page now has shareable URLs. A large number of updates were carried out by contributors correcting outdated information related to zcashd, ywallet and ECC references and links across the wiki.

ZECBounties

Tron’s work this month focused on expanding the Teams and bounty workflows, improving privacy and accessibility, and strengthening platform security. Significant UI improvements and bug fixes were also implemented across the admin and hunter experiences.

Features

  • Implemented Team Verification, restricting unverified teams from creating and posting new bounties
  • Added Private Bounties to allow teams to restrict participation to members within their community
  • Added Public Availability during team creation to allow bounties to be accessible to everyone
  • Improved mobile responsiveness across the platform
  • Added support for sharing individual bounty/task links for easier discovery
  • Added a Themes toggle, allowing users to select their preferred interface theme
  • Added a bottom navigation bar to improve accessibility for hunters on mobile devices
  • Updated Team Roles to support custom team logos and banners
  • Updated the bounty workflow to allow unlimited edits while a bounty is in review
  • Added Ironwood support through zingolib_beta_ironwood
  • Redesigned the Admin Role Toggle for improved usability and workflow

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Restructured the Admin Navbar to provide more space for wallet balance information without affecting the layout
  • Adjusted bounty cards to improve readability and information presentation
  • Fixed admin balance display issues
  • Fixed bounty resubmission issues after a revision was requested
  • Implemented various security fixes across the platform
  • Fixed overview statistics returning null values
  • Fixed issues affecting the display of testnet bounties
  • Fixed an issue where multiple submissions could result in completedAt being stored as null
  • Restricted and optimized the amount of data exposed through public routes
  • Fixed parseAddress functionality used for wallet address verification

  • User pages, UA icons, username/profile fixes
  • Badge system: color filters, light/dark SVGs, Miner badge, badge docs
  • Ironwood via Zingo-CLI zingolib_beta_ironwood
  • Sapling / zaddr detection on the address graph
  • UTC fix on edit-bounty modal
  • In-app docs + address policy
