One more, almost personal bit of feedback: The ZecHub team, especially @squirrel and @dismad are putting in work in the ZFAV channels and events. I believe they are doing that so they can do what they do better and they are teaching me along the way, as well. Or they are simply obsessed with Zcash communities and I totally get that.
Biggest increase was in Twitter Monthly and Best Post Impressions. It is noteworthy that last month both of these categories were negative.
Like last month, The Twitter followers, YouTube subscribers, Newsletter subscribers, GitHub Forks, and DeWork member categories have always had a positive increase since measurement started
Call out is Github active contributors and # of PR’s merged are down – this could be due Zcon preparations and also Summer vacations but this is just a guess? Would like to see these numbers be positive.

This month was perhaps our most successful in terms of community participation and new contributors joining. Over the next few weeks we should have more content released. Happy to answer any questions!
I’d also like to point out a survey we conducted about social media. I will let the community decide how to interpret the results, but it seems we have a long way to go to capture new users using only highly decentralized social media. @jelly5649
First, thank you for the initiative of the survey, great idea.
A few key details though:
The argument never was about using only highly decentralized social media. Instead, it is about having a presence in those, to show that we actually care about fundamental principles that are pillars in our ecosystem. Decentralization is undoubtedly one. Obviously, we must stay in centralized medias as well, given most people don’t yet understand the importance of privacy, and by extension, the importance of Zcash.
Unfortunately the questions asked in the survey were such that even I couldn’t select any decentralized platform in any question. I think that’s a bit of a failure. “Which Social Media Platform do you use most to communicate with the ZecHub community?” Sure I the forum, because that’s where most of the communication is happening, today. “Which would you prefer to use?” Well, the forum is the best, “we” control every aspect of it (moderation is important!) and it is longer form communication, which I much prefer to shorter form generally found on social medias.
It’s not even necessary relevant what the forum / Twitter community thinks of reasonably decentralized social media platforms. I won’t spend time to explain again why we should be there, instead I’ll ask: why do you think Monero has been there for ages?
Thanks for sharing! I think how folks choose to communicate is very interesting and they bring up some good points. I’m not sure if “web3” will ever be completely mainstream, maybe similar to the L1 , L2, L3 idea from blockchains. At the end of the day, where the majority goes is what will be used (for better or for worse!)
Yeah I realize its not very thorough but I hoped the other option would allow one to add what they use. I find it interesting that all these radically decentralized protocols / apps exists but know one either: knows they exists, or how to use them. How will they grow in use if it only used by folks who never talk about them?
I guess its hard for me to take Monero seriously when the only thing I see ( on the platforms I tend to use) is Monero folk bashing Zcash or anyone that isn’t them. I see very few big monero accounts calling out the toxic behavior and I just stop paying attention. So its great they have a decentralized first culture, but that isn’t enough for me, and probably others, to join in because frankly I dont want to be associated with that kind of toxic behavior.
