Zecmap & Zec Market Update

Hello everyone,

We’d like to share some updates about Zecmap.

Since the day we started building Zecmap, we’ve focused on taking the right steps and making meaningful contributions to the Zcash ecosystem.

Current stats:

  • 400+ registered users

  • 212 iOS downloads

  • 9,768 merchants (via Flexa integration)

Unfortunately, we’re still experiencing serious issues with Google Play Console. The process has taken much longer than expected, but we hope to resolve everything soon and finally release the Android version on Google Play.

We recently partnered with TEKCE Real Estate. You can now purchase real estate with $ZEC in the following countries:

  • Spain

  • Türkiye

  • United Arab Emirates

  • Northern Cyprus

  • Sweden

We’ll also be adding these businesses to Zecmap. Some locations are not yet available on OpenStreetMap, so we’ll first create those map entries before listing them.

Another exciting addition is Alternative Airlines. You can now book flights with more than 600 airlines and pay with Zcash.

You can also purchase an anonymous eSIM with Pikasim. No account is required, setup takes just a few minutes, and you can pay with Zcash.

All of this progress is possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team. We’ll continue expanding both Zecmap and the network of businesses that accept Zcash as a payment method.

So far, our team has contacted 3,700 businesses from four different email accounts, inviting them to be added to Zecmap.

We still have more than 10,000 businesses left to reach out to, and we’re actively working through that list by sending emails on a regular basis.

We recently received an email from Trevor on the Flexa team with some exciting news.

Flexa is preparing to expand its operations into Europe, and they told us they plan to share their European merchant data with us as well.

This means that, by the end of the year, ZecMap is expected to feature more than 10,000 merchants, making it an even more valuable resource for the Zcash ecosystem.

Zec Market

About a week ago, we began laying the foundation for Zec Market, and our team has been actively working on its development ever since.

Zec Market will be a marketplace and freelance platform where people can buy and sell using Zcash. Our goal is to create a simple and secure environment where users can trade directly with one another using ZEC.

Examples of what users will be able to trade include:

  • A second-hand computer

  • A Telegram account

  • An X account

  • Digital services

  • And many other goods and services

Zec Market will never act as an escrow service. All transactions will take place directly between users using their own wallets.

Some of the features planned for the first version include:

  • User profiles

  • Verification badges

  • Reputation scores

  • Referral-based registration

  • Complaint system

  • Reviews and ratings

In future versions, we also plan to introduce a community-driven arbitration system to help resolve disputes when needed.

Our goal is not just to build another marketplace, but to create a real ecosystem where Zcash can be used for everyday commerce.

Zec Market will be closely integrated with ZecMap, allowing both projects to grow together and strengthen the Zcash ecosystem.

We will continue working toward making Zcash not only a cryptocurrency, but also a widely used payment method and, over time, a culture of commerce.

As always, we’re open to feedback, suggestions, and potential collaborations throughout this journey.

Nice progress, especially the new travel, real-estate, and eSIM options.

For Zec Market, since payments will happen directly between users, it might help to show the accepted ZEC address or payment type on each listing before a buyer commits. That would prevent someone with a transparent-only wallet from reaching a shielded-only payment step, or vice versa.

A payment QR containing the exact address and amount could also reduce copy-and-paste and amount errors while keeping settlement fully non-custodial. Is this already part of the planned first-version payment flow?
