We believe Zcash is one of the strongest forms of digital money. Our vision is that Zcash should not remain an asset that people simply hold or transfer, but should also be actively used in everyday life.
Since the first announcement of ZecMap, we have continued moving forward with small but steady steps. Throughout this journey, we have seen that many people want to use Zcash for everyday purchases and real-world needs. Despite differing opinions and occasional negative attitudes, we have remained focused on building. For the past six months, we have continued developing and maintaining the platform entirely with our own resources, without receiving external funding from any organization.
We don’t want ZecMap to remain just a map showing businesses. We are continuously working on new features, regular updates, and user-focused improvements to make the platform more stable, useful, and somewhere people want to visit regularly.
To date, we have sent more than 4,000 emails to businesses using business data from BTC Map and similar platforms. Low response rates have not slowed down our efforts. We continue sending follow-up emails, reaching out to merchants directly, and exploring new ways to connect with more businesses.
This grant application is a one-time funding request intended to support the continued development of an already active platform and compensate the team for the work and contributions made so far. We do not plan to submit any further grant requests for ZecMap following this application.
There are also many individuals and local communities actively using, supporting, and promoting the platform within their own communities. We would be happy to share some concrete examples of this support as part of our application.
Our original grant proposal submitted to Coinholder was for $21,300. We have now submitted a separate grant request of $14,500 to ZCG.
Following the voting results, we received a mix of positive and negative feedback. Many people whose opinions we value encouraged us to submit an application to ZCG, which helped inspire us to take this step.
We welcome your thoughts, feedback, and questions, and would be happy to discuss any aspect of our proposal.
Our goal has always remained the same: to make the best form of money actively usable in the real world.
By reviewing our Google Search Console data, we’re starting to get more concrete ideas about the benefits of the Flexa integration and how we can better leverage it to drive traffic to ZecMap.
We may not have deep technical SEO knowledge yet, but we’re eager to learn and improve.
We’d be happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Here are some of our current metrics:

As mentioned, we’re still learning the technical side of SEO, so if anyone with relevant experience has insights, recommendations, or suggestions on how we can make better use of these numbers, we’d genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
I dig it, and see the utility in this. Hoping the ZCG sees the value in this.
I doubt the coinholder vote reflects reality, as it is a weighted vote, and the vast majority of holders did not vote/were clearly not even aware of this. Bundling a bunch of high ticket items in with development projects asking for lower price tags probably didn’t help either - it definitely buried a bunch of projects imo.
Regardless, I hope this project gets some funding, as I do for any projects like this that create real world functionality, and take advantage of what the network truly has to offer.
It was a mistake to reject the first application for this grant.
When I host meetups here in Spain, I talk about this site, because people immediately ask me: “Where can I use ZEC? Where can I spend it?” The answer is: ZecMap.
That is why I believe it is extremely important to have a resource like this in our ecosystem.
