Zecmap is now available on the App Store!

Zecmap helps bring Zcash beyond the digital world and into real-world use. Open the map, discover businesses near you that accept Zcash, and easily find places where you can spend your ZEC.

Note : My developer account is enrolled as an individual account, and I’m not sure why those numbers are appearing next to my name. I’ve already contacted support, and it should be corrected soon.

In the meantime, download Zecmap, explore businesses that accept Zcash, and if you spot any bugs or issues, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone

Nice to see this land on the App Store. A map only helps if listings stay current, so I’m curious how you keep stale entries out. Is verification community sourced, or re-checked on a schedule?

Hello,

We source Flexa merchants from a specific data provider and review them on a regular monthly basis. The status of other local businesses will be monitored through community contributions and ongoing revisions.

We are currently working behind the scenes and developing a system that will allow us to coordinate more effectively with local businesses.

This will enable us to communicate with businesses at regular intervals and verify whether they are still active or have become inactive.

Visitors came primarily from the United States (73%), followed by Türkiye, Singapore, the United Kingdom, China, Canada, and Japan.

:mobile_phone: iOS App Statistics (Approximately 5–6 Days Since Launch)

  • 96 first-time downloads
  • 550 impressions
  • 195 App Store product page views
  • 33% conversion rate

Downloads have so far come primarily from the United States (32), followed by Hong Kong (16), Türkiye (15), China (14), Canada (5), and several other countries.

These early metrics show that ZecMap is already beginning to attract global interest in a very short period of time. We’re still at the beginning of our journey, and we will continue working to bring more merchants, more users, and more places that accept ZEC onto the map.

Places that accept payments via Flexa are already marked with purple icons on the map. However, we can still add a note in the business details section saying, "You can make payments here using Flexa / ZODL.

Mapping Privacy

Money tells a story: who bought what, where they live, what they love, and what they fear. In today’s payment systems, every transaction is a record, every record is a trace, and every trace is a file. For the first time in human history, even buying a coffee turns into a permanent data point. We object to this.

Privacy is not a privilege; it is a right. This right belongs to everyone who sets boundaries because they are human, not because they are hiding a crime. Zcash makes this right technically possible. ZecMap brings it into the real world.

The Problem

Cryptocurrency was largely born with the promise of privacy, but today, most chains are like glass boxes. Every wallet address, every transaction, and every balance is out in the open. Zcash changed this landscape with its shielded transactions. Yet, no matter how powerful a technology is, it remains a mere assumption where it is not used. A privacy-focused currency stays abstract without a merchant, a cafe, or a service that accepts it. What was missing was the bridge between theory and real life.

What is ZecMap?

ZecMap is a global, community-verified map of businesses that accept Zcash. It is built with an open-source, independent, and decentralized spirit. It grows not by anyone’s permission, but through the efforts of its contributors. Adding a business takes just a minute; that one minute means privacy-focused payments take one step closer to real life.

We are not a company, but a network. At its center lies no single authority, but the collective effort of everyone who contributes. As the map grows, power decentralizes, verification belongs to the community, and the labor of contributors becomes visible and rewarded.

What We Believe

  • Privacy is not about being secretive; it is about being able to draw the boundaries of your own life.
  • Every business has the right to choose its accepted payment methods; every user has the right to live without being forced to reveal what they spend to others.
  • Adoption happens through bottom-up contribution, not top-down imposition.
  • A technology only becomes real when it is used in daily life; every point on the map is a signature written into this reality.

The Call

This map represents an idea far too important to leave blank. With every business added, a world where privacy-focused payments are possible becomes a little more tangible. Everyone who contributes becomes a part of this network, an architect of this map.

We aim to bring thousands of businesses together on this map by the final quarter of 2026. This goal belongs to a community, not a company. Everyone can make a contribution: adding a business, reporting a bug, submitting a suggestion, or simply sharing this idea with someone else.

We are mapping privacy together. Every dot is a step, every contribution a signature, every business a proof: privacy is possible, privacy is real, privacy is today.
