So I just got my first card ( R9 280X) hashing away and its telling me I’m getting ~30 S/s??

i have a similar card (7950) and i get around 295 Sol/s
I used to get the same hashrate as you when i was using genoil, i switched to claymore then its all good now.
are you using claymore to mine?

" What is S? "
The S/s stands for Solutions per second. This is the same as Hashes per second (H/s)
