“ZCASH CO-FOUNDER MET WITH JEFFERY EPSTEIN”

So @madars allegedly gave Epstein a book about Bitcoin and probabilities? What a scandal

It sure does not look good.

You do realize that Epstein literally met with thousands of prominent people right? Some random email about a meeting without context is meaningless.

Nope. It is not meaningless, that’s for sure.

Then please explain @ppkarppi what the meaning is?

I will stop this conversation here. I think we will all find out. This single tweet gathered 43 thousand views so far, 546 likes, and 111 retweets. That speaks for itself.

Oh wait, there is more, what is this??? https://x.com/XMRVoid/status/2017710699493966193

"Just got schedule K-1’s from Zcash.

Nothing too surprising here: ~$200k is what I got from auctions, and the “ordinary business income” + “long term capital gain” columns correspond to the coins that company sold to finance its operations; we should be getting a draw to cover the corresponding taxes.

All of my coins are still maintained by the company. We want to move on getting them out though:

Zcash will have a “fork” in the chain; it is expect that only one branch will be ilve (live) after this (it won’t be a controversial fork like Ethereum vs Ethereum Classic), but if we have physical control over the keys, we can benefit from both branches (in case it is controversial), while if we wait to get coins out, we will only get the company-endorsed branch.

Can I call you some day?

Madars"

That ALL CAPS tweet is also more Monero bro FUD.

It looks like Madars was referring to the profit he received from being a founder of ECC (schedule K1 profit) and likely that the upcoming “fork” he was referring to was the scheduled Overwinter hard fork which happened in June 2018:

Bullshit. This is not Monero FUD.

Read the email, then read the ALL CAPS.
Nothing in that email supports the claim that Epstein “forced” Zcash to fork.

Why are you defending this guy? Isn’t this guy a member of this forum? Can we have his comments?

I’m not defending @madars , he can speak for himself if he wants.

I am saying that anything from XMR accounts regarding Zcash should be taken with a grain of salt.

Monero juniors are desperate to buy your ZEC cheaply!

Why do you feel entitled to a comment? All of this should speak for itself. You are entitled to make up your mind as you wish though, and hopefully that’s using some understanding and good judgement.

I will absolutely defend Madars, as I’m lucky to be able to call him a good friend of many years. Though he shouldn’t need a defense, as these attempts to drag his name through the mud to serve Monerobros’ FUD against Zcash are cheap and embarrassing.

Sorry to douse cold water on any conspiracy gymnastics, but this is clearly not some nefarious connection. After his role as a founding scientist, Madars worked for the MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative. Among many tech projects Epstein funded was the MIT’s DCI, whose then-director Joi Ito was a contact. A great number of people in the tech sphere, especially at MIT, had been introduced to Epstein at one point or another, as a wealthy patron seemingly passionate for AI, quantum computing, neurotechnology, etc. – many of whom who were oblivious to and certainly uninvolved in Epstein’s double-life which he concealed from them.

If you read these purported e-mails of Madars’, which unfortunately are no longer private and I feel unentitled to, you should be able to intuit the innocent nature of it all.

Wow, hold your horses cowboy! You think a community member like me can not raise this issue here and talk about it?? I can. I am a member of this community just like you are. If I see some shady shit, I can talk about it here. This is exactly what I am doing here.

At no point did I suggest you couldn’t post a topic on this. You raised it; I responded to it.

Why do you retreat to feeling attacked for your right to raise this?

Yeah sure, just delete this thread. That is the way to do it.

A search for “Zcash” on https://www.justice.gov/epstein yields 17 results. Most of it seems to be from data set 9, which was apparently released Friday as part of a drop consisting of millions of pages. Let’s see if there’s anything more than just guilt by association in them.
