I’d love to hear feedback on having a custom Ledger for Zcash. I’ve been working with their team recently, at the Brazilian level for now (thinking to buy 50 nano S plus for Brazil with our identity), but it could be expanded to other models, too, etc.
The one is just a mockup; the design and ideas are still in progress.
We believe in self-custody, which anticipates potential shielded integration as well.

It has been a while since my last update, but I wanted to share that we are continuing our partnership with Ledger in Brazil. Recently, we had the opportunity to meet two representatives from Ledger CT, from France, at Open Ledger. The good news is that our Design Team finished the files for the Ledger team, and we are now waiting to hear about the conditions.

Ledger has finally provided us with the execution conditions and pricing details.
The minimum order is 100 units without a customized box, priced at 40 euros per unit. For the customized box option, the minimum jumps to 300 units.
Last year, when we spoke with the Ledger team in Brazil, we were told the minimum was just 50 units, but it seems the requirements have increased since then.
With our current budget of only $3,000 + Tax, we can cover just 25% of the costs, so we’re putting this on hold for now. That said, the design files are available for anyone in the community to use.
If there’s interest in moving forward, I have a few ideas: Perhaps the @ZcashFoundation could get involved for events like Zcon 7 and the one in Rome.
We could produce these as collectible items and sell them to recover the initial investment. I see a lot of potential interest, especially with shielded Zcash features coming soon.
The customized Zebra Ledgers turned out beautifully, by the way. For 300 units, the total cost would be around 12,000 euros. We in Brazil could contribute our $3,000 from the 2026 budget toward this. Otherwise, we’ll save the funds, and @ZCG won’t need to fund us with this previous projection.
