Budget and justification
Funds from the grant will be used in the following activities-
In general, I am supportive of this proposal. I like this proposal but the statement above is not necessarily true. There is a huge potential downside for media projects funded by ZOMG, if the contents produced do not fit the value of Zcash. Also, this is a personal opinion but I would prefer no trading strategy or price discussion in projects supported by ZOMG.
Thanks, @tokidoki for your support. Answering your query, we have a process of taking the necessary approvals before posting the content of our partners. We will submit the draft videos for approval by the team.
Absolutely our focus will be on the use cases of ZCash and explaining about the project rather than the price discussions. Our goal is to educate people about the project.
Hi Sahil, thanks for your application! We’d love to see more Zcash educational information in a large market like India. I believe markets like yours are where Zcash has a great opportunity to help people achieve personal freedom through financial freedom. Thanks for applying for the grant!
We would like to approve the grant if you’re open to the below:
Disbursement phasing
We are implementing a staged disbursement process for all our grants; this is standard practice for grant programs (and often professional investment programs too). In your case, we would like to disburse half upfront. The second half will be disbursed at the end of the project, subject to a basic level of quality control/review (we are doing this for other media projects as well).
Content (maximizing “returns”)
As the ECC has previously performed marketing-related activities in India, we’d like to make sure that our efforts (yours and theirs) get the best bang for the buck in terms of impact and viewership. Would you be open to collaborating with the ECC’s Josh Swihart @joshs on content? He has kindly agreed to help (he has also lived in India previously!).
Budget
As you have already produced a lot of media content, Part B of the budget (Setup Cost, including camera, mic, green screen), seem to be unnecessary additions to the proposal. Would you be able to take that out of the proposal? If there are specific reasons you have included these items here, would you mind helping us understand?
If the above are okay with you, would you mind revising your grant application? Thank you! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Hi @ml_sudo, I’ll answer all the three points below:
We agree to disbursement in two parts. We have already mentioned in our proposal for half payment in the starting and other half after the three months.
2.Absolutely we would love to work with @joshs. Our focus is to get the best possible results with our campaign working closely with the team.
We are already using our current resource pool at the optimum level as we are already producing 6 videos daily and we cannot create more content with the same setup. For doing our ZCash campaign we need to Setup additional resources mentioned in part B, We will be using a very small amount of money for setup from this grant, major portion of this grant will be spent in HR cost.
I’m looking forward for the explainer video series as most audiences don’t understand the difference between Public and Shielded addresses, and how Zcash leverages Zero Knowledge proofs to protect the privacy, wallet balance & usability(single Z-address use) compared to rest of the cryptocurrencies out there.
It would also help if you could make a hands-on demo of using Zcash using the mobile wallets @NighthawkApps / ZecWallet!
We have posted three weekly updates and two dedicated videos. Links are updated in the above sheet. We are looking to schedule the interview of the core team of ZCash. Please guide us on the interview scheduling part.
