I decided to base my rig on 1080 ti’s over the 1070 ti.
The decision is based purely on mining zcash. From what I read, and I read as much as I could, the 1070 ti is the best if you want to mine both Ethereun and Zcash as it has a high Mhs rate and an high Sol rate, but if main focus is zcash then the 1080 ti sol rate means I can buy 4 1080 ti’s for similar money to 8 1070 ti’s and have only a few hundred less sols but four slots available to add faster cards when they come out. I could also buy 5 and have more sols off the bat and have 3 slots spare.
That was my thinking anyway through talking to a friend who is an experienced miner and looking to future proof my investment.
Also from what I read the 1080 still has an excellent Mhs rate, it is just more expensive to buy and run than a 1070 ti if you are buying ether.

I went for the 1080 Ti not the 1070 Ti.

829 Euros each. Stuff seems much more expensive this side of the Atlantic.

Well I haven’t got them yet. But from what I have read, 740 sols each, so 2960 sols without any overclocking for 4 cards, I assume double for 8 cards.
