What brand? My evga ftw 980 ti didnt void my warranty to take it apart
gigabyte, yeah i had my 980toi waterblocked and they didnt seem to care that I took it apart… i just put the stock heatsink back on and send one in for repair (as I had one of three just die on me a few months ago… and actually that same card died again… so i dont think they did a great job fixing it, … now I gotta send it back in - though thats not the one that was getting the bad temps… that one was running ok.)
i have gigabyte gaming G1 980ti’s (3) and the aorus extreme 1080tis (2)
and one titan XPasc (eng samp LOL )
Hi @cristiycv I would be interested in how low you can get the power usage holding that hashrate i.e undervolting etc.
Also - have you measured power from the wall? I am dubious as to how accurate the software miner wattage readout is?
Cheers dude.
HI @BUTUZ
If you check my previous post : EWBF's NVidia CUDA Zcash miner 1060 - 170 h/s gtx 1070 - 250 h/s - #248 by cristiycv
Here you will see 1080 TI FE with 70% Power limit settings, the wall power is correct ( plus/minus 100watt, CPU, Motherboard, etc)
Man I love EWBF miner, has anyone gotten the API to work? I added it, and have tried pointing it at different ports but it fails form me.
/home/0.3.3b/miner --server us1-zcash.flypool.org --user x.linux1 --pass x --port 3333 --fee 2 --pec --api --cuda_devices 0 1 2 3 4
FWIW, my 5x GTX 970 rig is averaging 1.3 kH/s on this version.
So, I am not sure if it’s just me with using this miner, but here is what happens.
Randomly, the miner will just close after 1.5-2 days of running. No errors, nothing. Windows is still up, and other windows like MSI afterburner and corsair link is still up. Just the .bat file closes.
The stranger thing? it closes on all of my computers at THE SAME TIME. Weird, huh?
- All cards are running cool in the 50C+
- I have more than enough power to handle these.
- One of the 3 PC’s is in another building.
Coincidence that the miner closes at the same time for all of my machines? Is it an issue with the miner?
Anyone else experience a similar issue?
Interesting - you’re sure that your power supply is adequate, memory, etc? Could it be caused by a bad riser? Fan issue? If a GPU fan stops for some reason it could overheat and close the program. Just shooting in the dark for possible causes.
I’ll keep an eye on mine and see if I can duplicate what you’re seeing here.
Can you open a command prompt first, and launch the .bat from the command prompt manually?
If you do that, you may be able to see if it errors out and gives a reason.
I don’t know, it’s so strange.
Power is def okay, as I have separate breakers for different computers and it’s all fine.
It’s just strange how it happens at the same exact time for all 3 computers, and one of the computers is a completely different setup (2 GPU’s, not on risers) at a different house. Strange how nobody has reported this yet. It’s happened twice now to me.
Good idea. Will do now.
Just want to make sure - do you have windows update disabled on each? This could auto-restart your machines (around the same time). Otherwise it could be your internet cutting out?
You know, I’m noticing the same thing, about a 8-10c difference between my cards. It makes it hard to sync if you’re optimizing. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with gpu0 being hooked up to the display?
yes I think it must have to do with a gpu being hooked up to a display or dummy plug, as it seems to do it if the display is off also.
lol, you are too funny man, what z170 board is it
i forgot what we were talking about here… my z170 board? is the G1 gaming. the top of the line one, with watercooling and plex chip, 4 16x slots and 3 1x slots. i think its the only Z170 that can really handle 4-way SLI due to the plex chip it has… there might be one asus but i forget
and yes i still play with toys…
I can only imagine the temps on that… You mine on that as well, don’t you?
no not really, but i have since removed the 980tis, going to put the stock coolers back on them and mine with them… preping this for vega now
music to my ears!! prepping for VEGA!
