Yesterday the Zcash Community Advisory Panel elected the inaugural 5 members to sit on the first ever Major Grants Review Committee.
The elected members are: Myself, Sarah Jamie Lewis, Chris Burniske, Holmes Wilson, and Hudson Jameson
Background
The formation of a MGRC is a result of months of community questions, debate, ideas, and polling which ratified ZIP-1014 as a way forward for the Zcash network update this November.
NU4 is set to activate on approximately early November 2020.
If the Miners and Nodes on the Zcash Network support this network update then after Block # 1,046,400 the MGRC (in addition to ZFND and ECC) will begin to have a percentage allocation of the Zcash Block rewards set aside for use as shown in the chart below:

This slice of the Dev Fund is intended to fund independent teams entering the Zcash ecosystem, to perform major ongoing development (or other work) for the public good of the Zcash ecosystem, to the extent that such teams are available and effective.
The newly elected MGRC members all now have the title “MGRC member” under thier forum username. Forum members can easily ping all of the members using the @ZcashGrants tag in a post or via a DM to the same tag.
It will take some time for the MGRC members to get together and begin discussing and communicating the many, many things that have to be addressed. There is a very large amount of work that has to be done, please be patient while we get settled and feel free to post any questions.
