It scrapes YouTube links from the legendary “What are you listening to?” thread, then shuffles all the tracks and plays them full screen. If you want to contribute, just post a Youtube video in that thread. I’m also doing some light-touch curation to filter out expired links, meme posts, advertisements, forum talks, and other non-musical things.
Feedback welcome, and if you feel like checking out the code, the GitHub repo is here.
PS: Right now it’s just running on GitHub Pages which is “fine,” but I’d love to move it onto zcash.radio. The registry wants ~220 EUR So if anyone feels like helping make that happen, there’s a privacy preserving UA in the footer. Thank you!
suggestion: it could have a minimal amount of more Zcash vibe design around the video maybe? so video bit less than fullscreen. otherwise it could be any other youtube player site.
Regarding the QR code, somebody on Twitter had a great suggestion: change the donation QR code based on who posted the currently playing song.
Putting this out there: What would be a painless, privacy-preserving way to implement this? Since I’m already scraping the forum I was thinking maybe people could opt in by putting a U-address (without the transparent receiver) in their profiles somewhere, and my scraper could grab that when it gets the list of songs?
This is super cool.. but when I try to load the URL in Brave on an iPhone (not logged in to youtube) I get a flickering notification stream saying that I am not logged in…
