Miner- Claymore's Zcash Miner

I live in a freezerbox so temp is not a problem. They are cheap, I can get them for $139. However do they draw noticable more power?

15-20w (which isn’t that noticable)

The point is better cooling and power delivery.

Since you live somewhere that’s cold and your electricity is cheap I don’t think it will be that bad :stuck_out_tongue:

They also draw more from the PCI-E slot being 6pin.

In % that is quite a bit.

Yes that’s the exact one. Startup parameters:
-zpsw x -allpools 1 -cclock 0 -mclock 1900 -i 1

Yep, the reference cards are cheap.

I don’t think the reference cards draw much more power? If they are using the same basic foundry process for the chips, I don’t see how it could vary that much. The cooling solutions are definitely better on the non-reference designs though. You also pay a premium on higher spec cards due to binning of the gpu/memory.

Custom PCBs make a big difference.

there’s a great benefit of refs - controlled airflow direction - I can feed a bunch of them on one cold intake

Are those Sapphire Ref RX470 4GB cards?

well to be honest not all of them…5 refs, 2 nitros and 2 asuses - all 470

Do you see the same performance on all of them?

yes more or less. running all on 850mv, 1500 straps.
some cards may misbehave a bit at 2000 mem, but 1950(ETH) or 1900(ZEC) works
if 470 drives display I up the voltages to ~900, otherwise BSOD or driver crash

Been away and just updated from 2.0 to 4.0. Went from 42-45H/s to 70H/s on each of my two 480’s.

How? I have 380 4gb getting 42-45 wirg 990/1500 overclock (Gigabyte)

380’s are slow. (wadesfraADSDBTWH5EARSFD>x)

Claymore earned a few millions so he added nofee switch to miner

I have switched my operating system to win 7 Ultimate from win 10 and now only 4 of my 6 graphic cards show up when I run the miner. I had everything working with win 10 with cards running at 50ish/s. Anyone have any idea why only 4 cards would be recognized on win 7 compared to win 10?

The XFX Tri X 470’s is about 10% more epxensive for me compared to ref.
They get about 2-3% better performance compared to Reference.

However they have quick replace fans, are cooler, and draw less power?

Might spend the extra 7% for that.

I think I read somewhere that Claymore’s zcash miner is not updating the linux version anymore.

Has anyone tried using any of the Claymore’s windows versions on Ubuntu using WINE? Does it work?

I feel like I’m getting left out of some speed improvements being stuck on version 1.1

I’m running 2 identical system each has:
2 - R9 295x2 cards
and a generic MB with a dual core 2.5ghz cpu and 4gb RAM

Attempts to cheat and remove dev fee will cause a bit slower mining speed (same as “-nofee 1”) though miner will show same hashrate.

Any idea of the difference of hashrate between nofee 0 and 1 ?

Check what the pool measures in both conditions.

5% less on nofee
2.5% less with fee
