Miner- Claymore's Zcash Miner

MSI RX 480 ~239 sol +~14 sol +~5Watt

I’m trying to mine using Claymore, but it’s crashing shortly after startup.

I’m using Windows 10, R9 290x, 15.12 drivers. No overclocking on the GPU. I was using Genoil before and it was getting about 30 Sols most of the time.

When I run the batch file it gets to “Pool Version” before crashing. The log file is pretty useless, it doesn’t show anything. I rolled back my drivers just for this, and I’ve watched several videos on using claymore to mine Zcash - I’m not doing anything different. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I use the newest driver … i tested around, in my case not a countable difference.

Unzip the Claymore-File onto your Desktop. Create a new textfile and copy everything between the words “QUOTE”, but not the words “QUOTE”

rename the textfile to “clay.bat”.

Attention:

  1. You have to rename the path, in my case “LoveToMine” to your username.
  2. You should use your own t-address, not mine … but you must not
  3. This ist for the dwarfpool, if you want to use another pool, you should use another pool-address.

Double-Click the clay.bat and it should run.

Unfortunately the same issue is persisting. This is all tht shows up in the log file:

I’m going to try upgrading the drivers and see if that works.

The next step in this log should be: “start building OpenCL program for GPU 0…”

Do you use a 64bit Windows?

I just installed the latest AMD drivers and it’s working! I spent all day on this, and I was sure that it wouldn’t be the drivers - the developer is very adamant that 15.12 are needed and work best.

It looks like I’m getting around 275 hashes at the moment, but how is that comparable to the “Sols” measurement that shows up in Genoil?

hashes == Sols

I have with a 290x “only” 266 sol/s aka hashes

Claymore intends on releasing linux version again: Claymore's ZCash/BTG AMD GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux)

  1. the last drivers should work well , Crimson ReLive Edition 16.12.2. I had trouble to start the miner with the SET GPU_***** . I removed them from my batch file. If you used SETX then you may have to remove them from the windows registry. Also be sure you have 16GB of Virtual RAM, and 4GB system memory.
  2. It may be also from the power supply from 30 sol to 300 sol the GPU will ask for a lot of power (watts).

Virtual memory at least 16 gb

I don’t understand this requirements, what effects does this have?

If I use windows managed, 8GB, 16GB or 32 GB virtual memory on a multi-GPU-System → NO difference in sol/s
If I use 15.12 or any newer Driver → NO difference in sol/s

I tested this at least for 24 hours … NO measurable difference in payouts.

I use Windows 7 pro 64bit, a 380x and a 290x.

Any output for RX 480 NITRO+ 4GB, stock version ?

8g with modded straps but no additional overclock is getting about 245, so figure one could push 260+ with a good OC, maybe even 265, gonna play with it more soon… busy with holidays coming up

the miner works great, but after a while it gives me these errors and I have to restart:

Anyone have any idea why? using the newest version. (9.2 beta)

v9.2 Linux is out!

Getting 204 sols on MSI RX470 4GB. But a crap load of GPU faults on the screen. I had to turn off rsyslog to prevent my disk from filling up.

On 6x rigs, amount of GPU faults written to pts/0 causes cpu loads so high that it impacts GPU performances, dropping rates into the 140-160s. That makes it not usable for me.

Only seems to work on my ubuntu 14.04.1 rigs, and a bit unstable. It hangs, and I have to soft reboot.

Dumps core on my 16.04 rigs GPU-PRO drivers.

Looking forward to this, however.

did you use -allpools 1 command?
