Miner- CUDA Equihash (with devfee)

slightly better in 14.04 now. still getting some of those “threads terminated” upon startup.

you need to log via grub connect network - it change fs to r/w mode and install nvidia 367 and better also need add nomodeset and than it must work. if not run sudo apt-get purge nvidia* and log with default drivers (nomodeset required) and than install driver as additional drivers. maybe this can help you…

my problem also might be due to a low end celeron being in the rig…this miner really taxes the CPU.

not the last version

the version linked earlier on dropbox in this thread?

yes mu cpu load is near zero

yup, just tried it! Thanks! How many threads are you running on a 1070? do I have to set the threads for each GPU, or just once (-t 10)? I’m not geting the full 55/60, closer to 40.

Will try on another rig now

i run 20 threadns on each gpu 1070 with 8GB ram … each threah tak about ~380MB

The more threads I run, th e more of these I get:
[20:07:57][0x00007f335e2f5700] stratum | Received new job #93
[20:07:57][0x00007f32b5ffb700] #40-nv2 | Thread #40 terminated

[20:07:57][0x00007f32597fa700] #62-nv3 | Thread #62 terminated

is this working now?

how to overclock the card to ubuntu 8500/2100 ???

yeah go 20 threads on 10xx systems with 8GB

see above posts. via nvidia-smi and nvidia-settings

with last cuda 8 drivers… i cannot change gpu settings using nvidia-smi anymore :frowning:

but you can use nvidia-smi for unlock and power consumption. for clock settings you can use nvidia-settings viz. above

With a GTX 1080 at stock I get 53 sols/s. Now, I know nothing about Linux, so I’m sorry if this is a stupid question.

Whenever I start mining with 20 threads (-t 20) five of them are terminated instantly. Is it supposed to be that way? If I go any higher than 20 the miner bugs out.

I get the same. With multiple cards, I started an instance for each 2 or 3 cards. Notice less threads bug out.

I also noticed that if I run nheqminer for my CPU (i5-6600k), the GPU and CPU “evens out” and total at about 56 sols/s (GPU running at 30 and CPU at 26).

Yea I noticed the cpu being taxed lowers gpu hash rate also. Run the cpu with less threads… I Have to run my i7 on 3 threads only.

Well, I can’t even have one CPU core mining as they even out anyway. With only 1 thread I’m lucky if I get a total of 1 extra sol/s, so not worth it for the extra electricity from mining with the CPU.

At the current hash rate of my CPU and GPU I earn a small amount more on Windows using Nicehash’s client and just mining whatever is most profitable. However, if ZEC increases in price sometime - or if an update to this miner (or any other Nvidia miner) is released - then it might be worth it again for me.

But that’s just me because I only have one 1080 (and a 470 but in another PC, that one is mining ZEC).
