Miner- Optiminer/Zcash GPU miner v1.7!

So instead of using logic you’re just trying to bulldog your opinion in. Just because you say something is the way that it should be doesn’t mean it is, should be, or that you’re correct. I don’t use Windows 10 either, there is more then one version of Windows. 7-10 all work for mining. Only 10 has forced updates. I’ve mentioned this a few different times.

‘Out of depth’ spoken like a complete dumbass. Like I mentioned you’re once again backing absolutely nothing up with fact or logic and just trying to shove your opinion down someone elses throat that brings up topics like management, the ability to fix problems without a degree, monitoring tools, and of course stability and maturity of Windows drivers compared to nix in this case. Both AMD and Nvidia don’t put nearly as much effort into developing drivers for Nix. We aren’t talking about Tesla hardware here either. We aren’t talking about ‘enterprise’ level hardware, we’re talking about consumer grade hardware again which I’m sure you don’t use. You use only Tesla cards and Firepro in your system because they’re enterprise level cards, right? Oh no? You don’t? Why not? Oh because they aren’t a good fit for what we’re talking about regardless of scale, it’s a waste of money and time.

When you say something vague and obscure like ‘concerns’ follow it up with your actual concerns. Only thing that’s been mentioned here is Windows updates which effects particularly W10 and that can be managed by anyone that can do some google foo.

Honestly, it’s pretty clear that this conversation is taking place on two levels, and I have nothing to prove, and it would take me years to bring you up to speed, so for the sake of the internet, you’re right, I’m wrong, carry on doing what you’re doing champ.

Oh yeah? Because I don’t agree with you, you take on a snide condescending attitude and that obviously makes you right? I’m sorry bro, if you can’t actually come up with logical facts to back up your position and assume your nix ‘elitist’ attitude is going to protect you, it wont. Some people can actually look at more then what something is known for. Hell that’s why we had this whole discussion, but all you can come up with is ‘out of depth’ when I point out it’s pretty easy to change Windows update policies or the service itself.

Too bad it’s not nearly as easy to fix problems in nix when they break. Good luck getting a help post out of someone like yourself when you can’t find 10 answers for the same problem on Google.

@ChuckFeast @Bensam123 is this about optiminer or something else here?

did optiminer get slower with the current version?
I am getting around 130 135 with stock rx 480 8gb now
before was like around 145 150

Any plans for a new faster version?

I’ve been wondering about that myself. Can you revert back and check differences in speed on say 0.3.1 or 0.3.2? Did we trade speed for stability?

I had the same feeling, but found same result with the older version… Although, I think the results on pool side are better/equal as Claymore’s despite the lower S/s. But this is tricky to compare, I may run two rigs on separate accounts/same pool to compare.

Getting 120 S/s on RX470 which is great , and getting 165 S/s on R390x (which much better than other miners), but RX470 almost doubled here whereas R390x increased by 25% …

In silentarmy i used two threads on the RX470, whereas the R390x could run three threads … maybe that’s it?

how is that handled here? threads that is?

My rig just crashed with the same message

i don’t know why yet

Best to use github (https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerZcash) to report problems. Always state which version of the miner, which Linux, which Graphic card and which driver you use.

Optiminer/Zcash Version 0.4.0 Released

New feature: Json monitoring port. Enable with -m $port.
Optimization: Async solution verification and submission. Slower CPUs no longer slow down mining.

I have invested the income from dev fee to get new hardware. I have now a separate dev environment for Windows and got a NVIDIA card.

Any speed improvements?

Slight improvement expected, especially on machines with slower CPUs.

Now that all basic features are in and the miner is running stable, the next version of Optiminer/Zcash will focus on improvements to the mining kernel again.

Set your ethernet card to a metered connection (google it) and windows 10 will stop auto-downloading all the crap.
Cheers

So windows version is comming?

Thanks for the development!
