This error how to understand? She appeared 1.6, 1.6.1
After a while it stops working 1 card
1.5.0 works well
Having issuse since 1.6 ver, also in 1.6.1 where one card will appear in the list but never hash. I have reproduced the problem on two different rigs. A restart doesnât always fix it.
I am too having problems since ver. 1.6, including the 1.6.1 version. All my rigs (3 actually) started freezing after several hours of mining. Some of them after 10 or 12h, some after only a few. When I went back to v. 1.5, miners are working without problems for days. I am having rx470 & rx 480 on the rigs and some 280x and 270. Using Ubuntu 16. Is someone else having the same problems as I do?
With each new version released, due to enhancements and coding changes, you have to start from stock setting and then go from there. You can not take settings that worked in one version, say version 1.5.0, and then expect those same settings to work in 1.6.0.
This is true in ALL software updates, no matter what the software is. From Optimer to claymore to Ubunta to windows to mac
I had a 5 RX 470 card rig, worked on 1.5, initially had some trouble with 1.6, then it was fine.
However, when I added the 6th card, RX 480, it refuses to work on both 1.6 and 1.6.1 for more than 3-5 hours, then freezes the system completely (not even core dump, something worse).
Not sure if this is related to having 6 vs 5 cards, cards mix (470+480) or something else entirely.
Trying now back at Opti 1.5, will post tomorrow how it goes.
Incidentally, rig produces 1545 H/s on Opti 1.5 vs 1645 on 1.6-16.1, while using 1031 vs 1089 W.
System: Ubuntu 16.04 with 16.40 amdgpupro driver.
EDIT: 6 cards stable on 1.5.0 for close to 24hr. Conclusion: 1.6-1.6.1 had introduced something that either donât like 470/480 card mix OR does not like 4gb/8gb memory mix OR does not specifically like 8gb RX 480 Powercolor OR does not like 6 cards in a rig since i did not change anything else.
H/s difference R9 390 vs 290
I donât see relevant performance difference between my old R9 290(GPU1) and my new R9 390(GPU0) Nitro

Not sure what you mean⌠itâs 350 vs 310 S/s. So the 390 is faster. They are both Hawaii devices and their memory bandwidths are 382 vs 320 GB/s. That seems pretty much aligned with the speed difference.
