not often, sometimes a GPU will fail, but the rest keep mining
with claymores the entire program crashes
use 3 instances with switch --instances=3
and you get 13% more hashrate over claymore

i guess its windows for now… after spending hours of downtime trying to figure out how to get out of a login loop, at some point i had to ask myself it its worth it… and dont forget im trying to test how much i can squeeze out of r7 370 vapor x’s

Sometimes when a GPU hangs (for whatever reason, mining or not) you’ll have to completely power down the rig to reset the card.
no need for zcash interface, the z-addr is for making anonymous transactions, maybe soon you can use one to mine, not sure as not sure if htey fixed the issue… for now choose an exchange that gives you a deposit address for ZEC and use that in your miniing pool.

I have 20 rigs, so just about everything has happened, at one time or another I haven’t had it happen with silentarmy, but right now I’m only running it on 1 GPU (the rest are still mining ETH). I have had it happen while mining ETH, many times, but obviously that was completely different software. Overclocking and/or undervolting is usually the reason, or simply a flakey GPU.

which cards do you have? your not supposed to use it for old cards
which ubuntu you using? it works fine on 16.04

you can sell the mining from 1 rig and buy as much ETH as you could mine with 3rigs right now…
so mining eth right now is kind of … ummm… not a good idea?

change your primary display adpapter from Onboard Graphics to PCIE, go in to your motherboard bios and change that

Yep, that’s what I intend to do, but with the early-on problems zcash (pools, mining s/w, etc.) has been having, I decided to keep mining ETH while the diff is way down. We won’t be getting “full pay” for the zcash blocks mined for another couple weeks anyway. If the devs don’t figure out how to fix the z-addr problem fully, there won’t be any zcash, and they certainly didn’t come close with v1.01. I’ve been surprised by how poorly zcash seems to have been tested before going live, to be honest. They’re main reason for existing (anonymous z stuff) simply doesn’t work, yet.

Hey friends - I’ve been CPU mining for the last week w/ measly results (only on pace to mine about 1.5 ZEC p/yr). Converting to GPU mining and will try Silent Army. Just installed 2 x AMD R9 Nanos and now my monitor doesn’t work. I’m confident I hooked everything back up correctly. Monitor fires up, then reads, “no signal” and goes black. HDMI connections are secure.
Was previously connected to the sole HDMI connection on back of desktop. Now I have 2 additional (1 for each of the GPUs). I tried plugging in to those as well and get nothing.
Plugged the monitor into my laptop and it works fine, so monitor works. Wondering if I need to change something in settings (Bios?), but how can u do that when you don’t have a monitor for navigation?
Suggestions? Help a brother out?
