NVIDIA GTX 1080 ti GPUs

Hi!

Would you mind to tell how much is the difference between FE and custom editions? For example, GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Turbo 11GD and Aorus editions? Does price difference worth the gains (if any)?

honestly speaking i dont think it makes much difference. Am not an expert but from what i have been seeing from fourms etc its pretty much the same all depends on how u clock them too.

I am still able to mine 0.015 with 2x GTX 1060. So not too bad. I am holding and would only be cashing in when the price is > $500.

Hi Crypto ppl, super into mining but cant decide which card to buy! Thinking of making a mining rig with 8 gpus… 1080 ti. please help me choose which one is the best 1080 ti. thanks

Strix is normally the most recommended one, or EVGA for they’re terrific support. I use Gigabyte Aorus though, works great.

I don’t understand why you like these cards. They are smaller, yes, but you have to deal with the radiator and fan. The hoses make adding 200mm fans along the top of a rig difficult. The hashing speed is not great. Sure, easy to do 680-700 Sol/s on Zcash, but difficult I found to go past that with these cards. EVGA hoses are slightly longer than the MSI ones, which is helpful with my setup. If you like the Corsair fan, it is a cheaper version of the Corsair mag-lev fan that you can buy separately for about $20 at your local BestBuy. But why buy these hybrid cards at all? I get much better results with the larger cards 1080 Ti cards with three fans.

I have both air and hybrid cooled versions and I will say that I get about 725 sols/sec with the Hybrids in a hot room at about 208w, 60 c and very little airflow other than the fans in the cards. The seem to put off much less heat overall than the air cooled cards that I have. They OC more easily too. When I go to sell, they will sell for more because the water cooling is always more desirable.

Well that was my point: I don’t find that they overclock very well. And they put out a ton of heat, it’s just displaced by about one foot. I have both too, and regret the hybrids.

Hi root, am starting with my 1080 ti sc black edition. I was reading about different Zcash minners, which one would you recommend? ive read about nicehash miner or nheqminer

For nVidia EWBF is the best miner.

But what about the auto disconnect issue

There’s an auto disconnect issue? Mine are running fine…?

Ive read bout it. Which GPU are you using? and which windows?

I have 3 1070s running in 2 machines. One is Windows 7 and the other is Windows 10.

i can buy evga but it also have so many cards plz be specific… ftw3 or sc2 or sc or gaming or any other!?

Also if i buy evga ftw3 1080 ti will i be able to connect and control their fans and overclock them as ill using 8 one a single mobo!?

@BitsWdigs - I have to ask, have you read any of the forum posts? There are so many posts of people talking about each card, types, and information about each. There are links to video’s in some posts on cards used, how to set it up, etc.

You can run any 8 gpu’s on a single motherboard, IF that board has the ability to run 8 gpu’s . I suggest though that you do some research because it sounds like you’re trying to jump straight into the deep end of the pool.

Well thats true… imma noob… but i have done my research and i found out that some ppl say that u cant run more than 4 evga cards on a single mobo as the precision software doesnt recognize them and msi afterburner with recognize their fans so u cant do overclocking on them plz tell is that a false statement cuz i want to buy evga.

It has nothing to do with the GPU, you need to make sure the mobo has the ability to run 6,7,8,12, or 13 gpu’s depending on how many you want to run. Make sure you are using ver. 6 or ver. 7 risers and mk ver.2 m.2 pcie adapters if you are using m.2 slots

GPU choice is about $$, h/s, warranty, availability, personal preference.

For example as a personal preference I would never buy a single cooling fan GPU on anything above a Nvidia 1060 and I prefer the Fury’s in AMD over the regular 4xx and 5xx series. Others have different personal preferences.

To anyone wondering. The best resources I have found are this forum and there are 2 channels on Youtube- Cryptomined and Bits Be Trippin
