Yeallet.
I noticed something: when you transfer from Sapling to Orchard, the block explorer shows the transfer value as a fee. example, put to transfer 2.00 Zcash Sapling changing to the most current pool orchard, then the explorer shows that the amount was 0 (zero), but the fee was 2. why does this happen?
In order to facilitate sending from one shielded pool to another and maintain an accurate record of the amount of coins that exist in the pools (which is one of the metrics provided on the blockchain), then it has to account for the coins that cross from one pool into the other. This is known as a partially shielded transaction and besides the fee being exposed normally, it also shows the amount that crosses the pools.
Alternatively, the shielded coins would have to pass into the transparent pool and then into the other shielded pool which exposes more information about the address and such. This is the short hand method of doing it while still keeping those accountability metrics, classically referred to as the āturnstileā.
That block explorer hasnāt been updated to acknowledge the Orchard pool. Therefore it considers the amount going to Orchard as being lost to fees.
Thank you very much for the clarifications.

Hi I am using YWallet and sent zec too it. I had been having trouble transferring zec and it was bouncing back. I tried to transfer to my transparent pools instead of orchard and sapling. When I did this it said I had my zec but it was not spendable. I attempted to rewind in hopes it would become spendable and now it says that I have no zec at all. How do I find it again?
What is the transparent address?
what is your source wallet app?

I sent it to YWallet from nighthawk
The transparent address is empty. NH would have likely chosen Sapling from a full UA.
Its also very likely that NH will not transact because it is non-compliant with zip317.
The NH seed is compatible with importing to Ywallet w/o any extra steps. From there you could use Ywallet to move your funds however youād like.
The easiest way to recover your funds is to restore the seed phrase in Zashi. Then send the funds to another wallet if you want.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SENDING ZCASH FROM MY EXODUS WALLET I GET THE ERROR UNPAID ACTION LIMIT AND IM NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS OR HOW TO FIX IT AS I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR SEVRAL MONTHS TO GET MY FUNDS TRANSFERED
SORRYABOUT CAPS I DONT FEEL LIKE REWRITING THIS POST FOR THE THIRD TIME ON MY CELL PHONE.

Do you have a seed phrase from Exodus you can use in another wallet?

hi , i am new to this forum , i have been studying about zcash , and i have a question, as i understand zcash was first made with a trusted setup, where we have to trust that the participants of that setup and it affects the z address - sapling - , and then the orchard pool address update make that setup trustless but it only affects the universal or unified u-address.
my question is (theoritically) : if the participants didnāt destroy their keys and decided to censor a zcash z-address from recieving or sending funds or take the funds of that z-address they will be able to do it (theoritically), is this true ?
but they canāt do the same to a u-address because it is trustless , so a u-address cannot be censored or its funds taken -transfered- to another wallet.
i just want to understand, because i saw a couple of posts talking about zcash z-address being censored and transactions not going through.
how can a z-address be censored from sending or recieving funds ?
