In short - because it stagnates. After few years of development there is even no official UI wallet for any platform. And the only official wallet at the moment (console zcashd) is buggy. After few years of polishing it this console toy is buggy. Just imagine!
Zcash is stated to be able of providing user with super privacy, but HOW? How should average user use this privacy? There are no handy wallets which allow it.
20% of block rewards is a huge sum. So why not to hire two-three more excellent programmers to develop user friendly wallets???

like every other alt network; there’s real flaws with zcash. they never talk about the real flaws …only “china will backdoor zcash” stuff. thing-is, most of zcash flaws are fixable, and will be fixed overtime.

Like any other shit-coin it could be pumped easily. But this won’t affect adoption. Too few efforts from founders in that direction.
And like some zec dev told once (know this from rumors), he don’t give a FAQ about adoption.

May be this is a coincidence… but just noticed - whenever something negative but trustworthy is being posted here, they post some positive rubbish in a secons! I’m not a hater of ZCash, but not a fan either. Was a fan before, but no more.
I would be very happy to see zec 300+ or even 200+ right now. But I just think this won’t happen and I share my thoughts. Why here? Because this community shrank to the size of few active members. We are like few survivors after the long lost battle - flocking near the fire with our stories.
