I can’t mine with NVIDIA gpu any more: launching miner with -cd 0 option now makes Windows freeze!
It was working well till this morning, and I didn’t update the release (still on 0.3a)
Any idea?
I thought 0.3a was the latest release?
You’re right: there was an update, but for Linux only
Well, the point is I didn’t change anything but it stopped working ![]()
Getting ready to call it a night. Have been mining for 48 hrs, 15 min as of this post. Now have a whopping 0.005 ZEC (if I include .0006 unconfirmed). ![]()
Not pleased with performance. As stated earlier, using 4.0 GHz, QuadCore / 8 thread i7 6700, 32 GB RAM. Running nheqminer on Linux Ubuntu 16.04.
- H/s varies between 8-20
- Sol/s usually around 16
- all 8 threads shown running at 100% or a tick below
Seems like I should be getting better performance, but I’m new to Linux, using a terminal, and mining. (On the upside I successfully set it all up and it’s worked without a hitch for over 2 days.
)
Thinking of buying GPU (GeForce 1080, perhaps?) and going that route, but am not clear whether there’s a Linux-based GPU miner.
Any advice going forward would be GREATLY appreciated. Thx.
P.S. I see there’s a Linux update to nheqminer. Is it worth it to install? Hate to fix what ain’t broken, but if this will increase H/s and Sol/s, I’m in.
Oc, is there a sound effect on the zec pool? I keep getting a browser bell sound every now and then. I think it’s the having the pool web site open. It might be another site but I’ve checked the others I normally keep open.
He’ll give the definitive answer, but I believe it signals another block has been mined.
Just as a reference point, one of my machines is running an old Xeon E31230 quad core, -t 6. Was getting 10 Sol/s before the update, roughly 17 Sol/s with the new.
So maybe 3 conclusions:
- You should be doing way better than me unless the larger Xeon L1-L3 cache size is super important.
- The update is definitely worth it, given the relative increase.
- Did you try with 6 threads? There’s a mention on the readme that 6 is optimum on quad core hyperthreaded (so 6/8 utilization)
Fwiw.
I can’t connect to the site, to much slow
One of my machine’s shares are keeping to be rejected because of “unauthorized worker”. I’ve tried different workers, it’s still rejected. What can be wrong?
In fact, all my windows nhequminer.exes version 0.3a are telling shares are rejected. Works fine with 0.2a.
@yaapelsinko Have the same problem, I had to keep closing and reopening until I saw "Authorized Worker [worker name here]
0.2a are rejected too. Do smthn!
try to make an other worker and see if it connect to that one had same problem after playing around with the genoil miner fo some reason it takes over the worker and other workers are being rejected
It works on its own separate worker.
I mean, it works with it’s own worker, but shares are still rejected
This might be a super noob question but how do I run the CPU and GPU on the same bat file with windows using Genoil miner??
And also sorry if this was already asked but what is the best miner for a R9 280X 3GB oc edition and i5-3470?
Seems like my payment isn’t processing:
opid-4ff53915-492a-4b80-a056-8d910eb1e0cf
it rejecting shares even from linux miners now. “Unauthorized worker” when it’s authorized. Do something.
close and run the miner until you see authorized.account.worker lines
